Paid 3500$, should i pay more?
Never used raytracing in this game but you could try different Reflection quality settings because their “mousover-info” says they use different Algos/Technics for this in combo with the selected Lightning Qualy.
In the second vid it seems on DX11 the Depht/Displacement mapping goes crazy.
Manufacture wise you dont need an nvidia card to run DX12 “properly” , thats nonsense…
Switched regulary between both over the decades since voodoo1 and just bought whatever was the “best bang for the buck” at that point in time. But “ATI”/AMD always had odd driver fkups here and there dont know if its an “error” on the Gamedev side of things or not properly tested beforehand by AMD.
If nothing helps try other/older drivers…
AMD isn’t cheap. Not when you splash out.
And at this point in time, I’d prefer to support AMD than Nvidia and their hideous anti-gamer practices. ![]()
My 7900GRE runs DX12 perfectly. It’s not about drivers (like it used to be), it’s more an issue with the game engine when it comes to Enlisted and AMD. That said, I’ve seen plenty of users have issues with Nvidia cards also. This is the beauty (and the pain) of being a PC gamer. Everyone’s rig is different, they’re not all built the same.
Still better than a console though…

Didnt see the post with the Scan…
you are on an nvidia 5070 so i guess same “drill” …
try other drivers or just dont use raytracing until this is fixed.
ahh the muppet got the “wisdom” needed here ![]()
so if it is a game-engine-sided prob just wait for a fix…
What card? That seems high, most AMD are cheap unless it is something unusual. Even the latest they have are way less than $1000. AMD cards | Newegg.com. Not sure where you got it or are you talking about the whole system???
I have built networks and PC’s and there always seems to be compatibility problems with AMD CPU / GPUs from the time they hit the market in 1990s. They are ok for budget pcs but if you want the best get Intel CPUS and nVidia chipset GPU’s. It is ok if you dont agree … opinions vary … but that is years of experience speaking
I am running an 8 core Xeon CPU, 128 g of DDDR5 6000 Ram and a 5060 16gb, m2 Drives, 1 gig fiber - I never have issues unless the game server hiccups.
I need a better monitor — soon
Why does everyone call me “the muppet” around here?
If I actually had feelings, they’d be hurt… ![]()
Joking aside, it’s definitely more of an engine issue than anything else.
Same. I’ve been building PCs since 1995. The late 2000s were a bad time for AMD CPUs, and to some extent GPUS. But they were usually driver related. They’ve come a long way since then. And to say that AMD combos are okay for budget builds is simply not true. AMD have the better high-end gaming CPUs, and their GPUs are way more stable than they’ve ever been. They really nailed their driver issues in the last 5+ years. In fact, it’s been Nvidia that’s been dropping the ball on driver problems recently.
What I’m trying to say, is that the old Nvidia/Intel trope of old simply doesn’t exist anymore. I’ve found more issues with motherboards than CPU/GPU problems in the last few years. And I swore off AMD for a long time, following many of the aforementioned issues of old.
Same built PC and Networks since BNC times.
Dont get me wrong dont want to “offend” you or start a “who knows more” contest but the statement that you NEED an nvidia card to run DX12 properly because ATI/AMD are “cheap” cards that are not “suited” for the task is not true.
Also most of the early problems in the 90s you mentioned where releated to the awfull chipsets and drivers AMD boards had back then.
But after that they did pretty good job to keep up as an competitor to nvidia since the early 2000s
Im a product designer for Machine and Plant Engineering (hope thats translates right, not my native language… technischer Zeichner für Maschinen und Anlagentechnik) so im confident to say i know 1 or 2 things about 3D/CAD.
I used both card manufacturer in 3D/CAD (while at that time there where still dedicated CAD cards “a thing”) and can only say from my experience “they get the job done…”
So if you dont WANT a specific feature like DLSS there isnt that much of “an gap” anymore between the two, its all about which resolution im on and what kind of stable FPS range i want to end up in + “how much money i willed to throw at the problem” imo.
Yeah sorry for that, wasnt meant to be rude ![]()
its just the first thing that crossed my mind when i saw your profilepic ![]()
Lol. You weren’t being rude. It’s all good.
And in a way, if I’m THE Muppet, then there is a little kudos to it.
I’m impervious to offence. If you knew me IRL, then you’d know that. Nothing fazes me. If it did, I couldn’t be the type of arsehole that everyone loves around here. ![]()
I set my Enlisted startup to AUTO, and it automatically always chooses DX 11. If I manually set it at DX 12 my gaming display looks and performs like shit.
This post is mostly for DEVw who wons see it of course.
I have like 4000 battles and problem started about a month ago.
I updated drivers. Tried both dx12/11. Reinstaled game twice. Keep getting crashes and freezes.
Might normally suggest to use DX11 - but if you have a specific bug report for these with logs attached, do send it to us!
bro is still living in the '90s, AMD has been the better price vs performance for both GPU and CPU for almost 5 years now
Only complaints I see are from AMD owners! lol … they ruthlessly defend their junk
but just keep on buying it and saying how great it is, lol … yea they are cheaper and there is a good reason …
So you understand that this is why developers cannot effectively fix the problem.
Some people are misleading the developers with their subjective opinions, affecting their judgment.
Most players know that the current D12 issue mainly occurs on AMD graphics cards. Especially since the developers have not yet aligned with AMD’s latest drivers. When the “d12” issue occurs on the n card, it is mostly due to driver version, laptop graphics card, graphics card that has mined virtual currency, and other problems.
because it’s a bug only affecting AMD cards after Enlisted added unnecessary raytracing
I will, you really can’t beat 9800X3D + 9070XT combo ![]()
NVIDIA fanboy detected…
i have owned both CPU and GPUs from all 3 companies(well 4 if you include ATI) from 90s. every company had their good and bad stuff for certain period. unless you have unlimited budget, people buy best bang for buck and lots of times AMD gave that option(btw writing this from intel+nvidia setup). in early 2000s ATI(now graphic division under AMD) was notoriously known for bad drivers and this was the case throughout the 2000s and maybe early 2010s. i owned 4850 and 6870 without any major problems, although i have seen some people complaining about them, but i am power user, so that may have made some difference. idk if it was since early 2010s or mid 2010s, but AMD invested heavily in driver development and even had title of most stable drivers for gamers in late 2010s Third-party audit reveals AMD drivers are the most stable for gamers
there was saying “AMD ages like fine wine” cause AMD GPUs got loads of performance in certain games months after cause of driver improvements.
most people who trash AMD now cause of bad drivers are either NVIDIA fanboys or have owned one ATI/AMD card in 2000s and are stuck in that time. only reason to choose NVIDIA over AMD is if you want better ray tracing and DLSS(besides wanting self immolating GPU made of gold like 5090).
THX @ robihr …!
was about to write something similar.
@gator66
Again… no bad blood intended here BUT…

Lets adress the elephant in the room…
The creator of the topic IS using an “superior” NVIDIA Card and get those “GFX-Glitches” (how come ?) -
Our “LokalHero” already stated in his post that this is releated to the Game-Engine itself and can occur when using raytracing.
I guess alot can go wrong when you implement raytracing in a game that otherwise uses baked-lightning (pre-calculated), idk im not a professional coder…
-
You talked about AMDs “bad/inferior” GPUs since the 90s, iirc AMD never did GFX-Cards for the consumer market before they merged/bought-up ATI somwhat around 2005/6
Im not a “Brand XYZ guy” at all, i just look at the “pure-cold-data” and how long it may be still useable in the future when i buy hardware.
But it seems you are a bit “narrow-minded” on this topic and not really “up-to-date” info-wise whats going on in this sector for quite a few years.
Anyways, its all fine and “you-do-you”!
So bottom line: Lets just wait for the fix from the devs and the “world keeps turning”…
btw just want to show this topic that is relevant since raytracing update
2-3 times per every game i get fps drop from 120-150 average fps to 1-10 fps for couple of seconds. this never happened pre raytracing update. also i am not alone in this, 77% of forum users that voted on that topic have some kind of similar gpu problem since that update.
