My first guy usually have a smoke grenade.
Covers my advance pretty effective.
Always a lot of smoke frags in my flametrooper squads as well.

I don’t have smoke but I have WP which I can use as smoke if I need it.
Yes. I try to have at least two soldiers with smoke grenades in the company.
Will admit, i don’t have many, on toons, thought about, if i just spam smoke, will people thinks its WP, and keep away, anyway?
but, after a match today, i think i may try and carry at least one in each squad, or something, may of been useful.
But due to fact, i prefer to have ability to blow up a tank, i think ,is more valued, when only carrying one gren slot, with no back pack.
I use smoke artillery to assault the first bunker on D-day, and then basically nowhere else.
It hasn´t gotten that much better since I bitched about it. We don´t need more ways to use smoke but just better smoke grenades. We don´t need the smoke barrage, smoke mortar rounds and smoke shells, those are just features that are rarely put to use.
I have bitched about it, of course, it is useless. It seems that we need more people to complain.

-Wait we had smoke artillery in game? Would be nice if RADIO SQUAD COULD USE IT on separate cooldown.

Absolutely but smoke use is all about where and how you use it. Smoke artillery forces the enemy to engage on your terms but timing and location are key. WP should be removed from this game or reduce the area covered, takes no skill to use and toxic to your own team.
Smoke needs buff.
It should cover bigger area

I always used smoke in my Elite deck, was a game changer. But as I have spent the last few months going through squads I haven’t leveled, I’ve had no radio men.
@Conscript_Joe What??? they nerfed smoke cooldown too? feeeeeerrrrrk I haven’t used it for too long…
Mortar smoke seems crappy. would like buff.

I drop mortar smoke after using up the first lot of HE - as much jsut to get rid of it as in any hope of helping!
And very occasionally use tank smoke - but not often

They should have kept the mortars from switching shells automatically. I can always see my teammates firing smoke bombs at the enemy, haha.Of course, I often forget this.
Yep the first 2 Assaulters in all my Assault squads carry 1 smoke grenade. I used to give them each 2 smokes but reduced it to 1 each since having 4 smokes between them tends to be overkill I think.

They nerfed smoke grenade radius since the High Caliber update. The only smoke worth using is 75 mm smoke shell fired from a tank.
Smoke is like engravings, they provide no tactical advantage whatsoever, why waste time when you can just kill the enemy, like if you’re in a tank, why would you blind the mg defending the point when you could just turn him into a red mist
Simple, to try and stop team mates and bots from being insta gibbed because they are useless and cant deal with the heavy mg or tank pointed at their spawn.
When theres only 1 threat, sure kill it. But when theres 1-2 tanks (or tanks you cant pen), a couple of heavy mgs and you team is so useless they cant deal with any of them, smoke can get them past the killzone or buy you sometime to pick up the slack

Of course you use HE vs a machinegun, but I’ll use smoke in front of a T-34 when all I have is a Pz-IVE…while I’m reversing…!

Same. I used to run a radio squad primarily for smoke. Kills were nice, but it was being able to obscure points that are tough to approach on the attack that made them worthwhile. First they nerfed smoke to be nearly useless and then increased the cooldown. No point to run them for me now. If I have a mortar squad running (rare) I’ll put out some smoke. I even more rarely use tanks (so no point to discuss smoke shells) and see no use in today’s smoke grenades.
