The best choice honestly. Nothing against SMGs but swords are higher tier for non Japan factions. You know when you pull one out on a guy its going to be a little extra on the melee action.
War is war. US Fire bombing Japan would have been a war crime as well. I liked in Kanchanaburi Thailand , my home was about 150m from the bridge on the River Kwai (The bridges were on the Kwai Noi and Yai). 100k SE Asian laborers died building that but you only hear about the 5k POW’s dying. Stalin purge killed millions, If the end result is death does the degree of brutality really matter beyond a semantic of statistical definition? Some guy getting a slug to the head into a ditch seems a lot less painless that getting gutted by a Russian guy with a knife.
I am happy to get another BSA Model 1929 Thompson. I have four, this will give me five so I can arm my medic with it. After that, I really don’t care, but I will play long enough to be able to get my fifth Suomi KP/-26. The Soviet PDM-42, not a lot of interest for me, I have no others and with the PPS-42 and 43 it really is not needed.

You may not be so excited but the Japanese are always in need of more anti tank equipment.
People complain about the M1A1 Thompson at BR2, but I don’t use any of them in my three tech tree assaulter squads. Of course, I do have ALL the premium Thompson squads along with the UD M42 squad.
When I get the fifth BSA 1929 Thompson I will interchange weapons with the Hyde squad.
