Every time there are lots of bugs after update. Especially with tanks and planes…For example, ammo supply failed after arrival of the supply point, sometimes even no ammo on the vehicle after revival. Sometimes plane just gets damaged for no reason and fall down itself…
Your engine will get damaged, if you fly at full power for too long. Unfortunately, this fact isn’t communicated to the player in any way, like many other things.
I have been wondering about this. I noticed that it lets you run at basically 110% power. In real-life, you wouldn’t want to do that all the time, but I wondered if that would cause problems in the game. Are you sure this is something that they simulate?
I’m not sure, but I’ve seen this repeated often on this forum (I’m reading tons of bug reports now for my unfixed bugs megathread).
Apparently Enlisted simply copied many vehicle characteristics directly from WT, where this is indeed simulated.
Edit: Oh, I remember something else now. The gauges in your cockpit are all actually working. One of them will show your engine overheating. You just have to know, which one it is : P
Good to know. I will keep an eye on my engine temp.
What the fuck… I didn’t know that, if I knew that I’d slow down a little… That would literally explain why I occasionally plummet down despite not having taken damage.
Yeah, this game really needs some sort of user manual.
The most recent bug being that the Fw 190 A-8 (Normandy lvl 27 fighters) just empties out it’s whole 20mm ammo randomly after shooting. like the trigger got stuck or something and the gun just empties the strip. WHY
I hate to say it, but that bug is not recent at all. DF takes their time fixing things.
they assume that many have played or are familiar with war thunder for both tanks and planes
which is completely naive tbh I have personally barely touched war thunder and consider myself a complete noob in terms of tank and plane specific simulation and weak point knowledge
Really? Then there should be some hints on the dynamic graph of the plane… Sometimes just no parts got “red”…
True, for some reason an overheated engine doesn’t register as damage to the plane, but it should. It still doesn’t educate players about the reason for the damage but at least they know, that something is wrong.
do the instruments mean something? is there a way to monitor oil heat? I have not found one yet and most instruments in planes are doing something meaningful, while others don’t give us any clue what they are. I wish I could have more stats of a planes current condition like in WT regarding oil heat for example
Apparently they all do. And in some cases it is obvious, what they mean, in others it isn’t. Most gauges are labled in some way but the meaning can be cryptic, for those like me, that know nothing about planes. Also, it can be hard to read on lower resolutions. And in German and Russian planes, the lables obviously aren’t in English…
I just took the Bf109 and P51 for a spin in practice mode and had a good look at the dashboards.
I flew both planes for a while on maximum throttle. The needle on the coolant temp dials never moved an inch. In the P51, however, there is also a gauge just for temp (I suspect engine?). That actually did increase slowly and decreased again as I turned the throttle down. Unfortunately, despite flying for 10 minutes, I could never get the temperature to rise over ~92°. It just stayed there forever and I suffered no ill effects. Maybe overheating doesn’t work in practice mode? I couldn’t identify a corresponding gauge in the Bf109 cockpit.
