DF Content Update Review: Always Half-Done, Lazy Nerfs & Abandoned Mechanics

So what you’re saying is basically this.

And I have to say, DF really dropped the ball on balance design. The game’s new player tutorial is still far from enough, and there’s absolutely no warning whatsoever about this kind of risky loadout trap.

Lots of players just grab a rare high-tier weapon from small events or marathons, slap it straight into their squad to show off, only to get completely wrecked in matches and leave frustrated. Not to mention the current state of BR4, plus BR3 being swarmed by the vast majority of players.

New players have it even worse in a way.

From what I’ve seen looking at the progression pace of non-spending players: without premium account bonuses, their tech tree progression is painfully slow. Honestly, it would probably take them half a year just to even get close to researching later tech tree unlocks.

Who even remembers their development roadmap anymore? I’ve pretty much forgotten it entirely. It feels like they’re just making things up as they go now, with no real overall direction at all.

At least War Thunder keeps its promises and still has some credibility. Enlisted nowadays feels more like just a side project scraping up whatever leftovers it can get. On top of that, Gaijin shamelessly keeps launching new games, constantly splitting their focus and energy elsewhere.

Their Russian-side operation is such a mess; no wonder the Soviet Union collapsed back in 1991.

I lost respect for the direction of the game a long time ago,
and now, I am just a player who has figured out that our opinions
really don’t matter to Gaijin, just our money, so shut up and buy.

The reasoning why it specifically was nerfed is because people could go up unreachable roofs - which is ridiculous reasoning considering we have Paratroopers now.

Meanwhile tank barriers can still be build indoors to block AI from capping the objective…

Yeah, all the old excuses have long been resolved by newer content, they’re not even worth mentioning anymore.

Engineers in the game are basically treated like stray dogs on the roadside. Sometimes they’re necessary, yet most of the time they can’t do much at all. They’re either barely useful or practically useless, and rarely get to show their real value. It’s really frustrating.

yeah not to mention i still see AA gun on roof anyway even tho that was one of the main complaint in the past that “people would build AA gun on roof”. I just want my 2 stack sandbag back so i can build a sandbag wall tbh.

tbf i dont think 2 stack sandbag can make me climb the berlin bridge again but we’ll never know.

I feel this kind of reasoning is just plain ridiculous, you know? Times have changed, and if he’s just gonna be boring, let him be boring. Knives can hurt people, but that’s no reason to ban selling knives entirely.

Always thought that was wild too. A single weapon can cause so much suffering. The battle rating system of balance is weird and definitely not friendly to newcomers.
