Caution: If you don’t like to read, then don’t even bother continuing forward:
As a solo-veteran player with over 3,300 completed matches, and 50 days of playing time, there’s no reason to consistently be playing against noobies with less than 100 matches completed. And the same applies to the entire spectrum of experience that this playerbase is composed of.
From the brand new players who just installed this game less than a month ago, all the way to the people who’ve been playing since it’s beginning… Everybody appears to be thrown into the same kettle, and it’s a complete shitshow.
-It’s not fun for new players to be stomped to death by veteran players who have maxed out gear, soldiers, and vehicles.
-Many veteran player do not enjoy being matched with a team full of new players who are still learning the fundamentals of the game. While the other team is composed of 6-10 gold ranking players.
-And it’s equally boring to be placed on a stacked team full of Gold ranks, and to be placed against a team that doesn’t even have a single gold ranking player. It’s a complete waste of everybody’s time, and hardly anybody earns any XP towards their career progression.
Is the excuse for the broken matchmaking, being that there “isn’t enough players for balanced games”?
Is the counter-argument: “Oh, the new BR progression system, and campaign merging is going to fix the problem”?
Without continuous game-lobbies that remain open for players to join, leave, and queue… then I’m not exactly sure how this new system is going to be successfully implemented. Not when there’s long list of bugs still withstanding that haven’t been fixed. And the lack of creativeness when it comes to new content that is applied in the form of new maps and game mode for players to enjoy. The consensus has been that a large percentage of players do not like the gamemode conquest, for reasons being that the this particular mode is a waste of time, and does not yield very much experience towards player-progression. Yet… no changes have been made for a very long time. As if everybody on the forum and elsewhere that have been expressing their complaints, have all been falling deaf ears.
Now let’s take a tour of the samples I’ve been accumulating for the past two weeks. I know how much everybody enjoys visuals and documentation
First: Not interested in playing destruction with a bunch of noobies. And it’s a good thing I quit, because the other team was stacked.
Second: All noobies on my team, while the other team is probably going to spam paratroopers and zerg rush all the objectives. Bye!
Third: Not interested in playing Conquest with a bunch of noobies. Boring.
Fourth: By the third objective, six of my teammates had left the game. Why the hell would I stick around? It’s not like I need the experience when I’m maxed out.
Fifth: Here’s the postgame stats for Slide #4
Sixth: Not a single teammate with a gold rank. Bye
Seventh: Not even a 10 vs 10 when the game started. Not interested in playing with a team full of bots vs 5 experienced players. Bye.
Eighth: The only teammate with a gold rank had left the game as soon as he joined. Probably because it was Conquest. So I left too. What’s the point in wasting my time playing a lame game-mode?
Ninth: Nope
Tenth: Again. NOPE
Eleventh: And when I do decide to stick around, by the end of the match it I was wishing I had quit and looked for a new game.
Twelfth: Give me two other veteran players vs a team of noobies… and it’s going to be a slaughterfest.
Thirteenth: No thanks. You guys can play amongst yourselves. Have fun.
Fourteenth: Imagine that.
Fifteenth: Boring
Sixteenth: Predictable
Seventeenth: Noobies who are rage quitting after being stomped by a stacked team
Eighteenth: Nope
Nineteenth: If we could see the other team’s ranks while in the game, this match would have been a predictable slaughter.
Twentieth: No thanks. Have fun farming my team full of noobies. I can predict that match ended in less than 10 minutes.
Up until these last couple of months, I rarely ever quit. But the broken matchmaking has gotten out of hand. And now whenever I find myself on a team full of noobies, and/or Conquest, I simply quit and look for a better match.
Give me a few competent teammates who have experience with this game, and I’ll happily stick around and fight against stacked teams:
First: 184 engineering points FTW
Second: 43 minute meat grinder
Third: Engineer FTW
Fourth: Engineer
Fifth: 14 vehicle kills (tanks and player controller aircraft)
Sixth: One veteran player vs a team full of noobies = Tiger tank = salughterfest
Seventh: I bet the other team was mad
Anyways, feel free to share your own reasons for deserting battles.
How can this issue be solved? Or at least reduce the quantity of players who quit matches?
-New historical battlefields (to keep experienced and veteran players interested in the game)
-Better game modes
-Eliminate ugly game modes
-Fix the broken matchmaking, by implementing open and continuous lobbies that can be joined and exited at any given time. And allow players to queue up when they are wanting to join a specific lobby. This should be the standard for general gameplay because it’s obvious that the current system isn’t working.
-fix team communication and allow console players (solo players) to communicate with the team via their headset. (And a mute feature, to allow everybody to mute the annoying kids and weirdos)
-Fix the team communication wheel. We still don’t have an option to choose “yes” or “affirmative”. Also add more options to the wheel (take recommendations from other people’s suggestions/posts)
-Fix the AT launchers (they are very inconsistent)
-Fix the AA guns (they are significantly weaker than they used to be, and/or the RNG is heavily favoring the aircraft)
-Fix the gunner positions for JU-188 and BF-109. They don’t work, and there’s no point to use them while they are easy targets to shoot down.
-Fix the downward depression for Light-Machingun nests. We still can’t aim down, and can only shoot at a level surface/angle and at an upward impression (but not downward like you can with map-built MG’s and HMG’s)
-Add a lock-objective timer to Invasion game-mode, as a way to balance the issue with paratroopers deploying ontop of objectives the moment they move.
-Increase German paratrooper ammo capacity to balance that of the Americans. The VK and Thompson are vastly superior in strength and ammo capacity. Where I have found it’s very enjoyable to wipe out American Paratrooper squads and then pick up all of their Machine guns with 400 rounds of ammunition. (Meanwhile, the german FG II’s only get like 40 rounds? or is it 60? LOL!!!)
I absolutely slaughter people whenever I pick up this gun. It works great a close quarter hip firing, and short bursts at medium range. But unless it’s mounted, long range is a joke.
Lastly: To conclude this thought-out post, I’ve included a short clip from the Horrors of War
I’m super excited for this big BR progression system. It’s like being a passenger on the Titanic.
