I think you missed the part where I said I’ve been playing for almost two years. I understand the mechanics and strategy, what I was specifically referring to is the AT cannon, which really cannot be leveled up or anything. Again, after almost two years I have hit everything from red to green crosshairs and probably even blue (joke) and although what you say is correct in theory, I can testify that in practice it is completely moot.
Fun is good and all but people want to level up instead of looking at weapons they can’t touch because they keep playing custom games.
You can level up in customs
Not efficiently and unless you like playing lone fighters like I do.
That was actually a point I didn’t get to in this post. The events. Right now, I need to currently score 20000 points per day for the event rewards. At the time of this post, I have played enlisted for about 9 hours today, and I do not have enough points yet. 9 hours. No reward. This is because every match I’ve played today I could not achieve a score more than about 500 points or so. IIRC I still need about 300 points today.
I already made a topic about this in the mess room but the devs don’t care about it because they’re more interested in you paying money than you getting what you want.
Look, I understand the frustration and the issue, today I had a few of those matches, one in special a tiger camping on a hill with direct view of the allied spawn took 12 M8 rocket direct hits to it’s top armor and shrugged off like nothing and just farmed points from there until the match finished.
HOWEVER, 9 hours and you couldn’t make the 20k points? Damn, calm down on the hyperbole dude.
Not everyone’s like you we play at our own pace and we want to enjoy the game not work at it.
What campaign are you playing and what side. Just out of interest.
I find stalingrad and pacific (atm) to be top knotch for doing events.
You dont want to join the 1 sided faction in other campaigns. Games are over too quick, which if you are up to 9 hours sounds likely.
Buuuut… if the top player is getting over 9000 (im guessing this was a joke) its not a short game. You could be getting 2000 in that time passively with rallys and engineers
Man the game is simple:
Is either be a clubber or getting clubbed
Merge doesn’t fix this, you think those mf with 9000 point would be any weaker after merge? Hell no, they can still club you with the starter rifle if that’s the only thing they have
The game is filled with meta players, wallet warriors and worse than bots players, the between people kinda just cope with what they have
Well to do it efficiently you have to be proficient. If you arent proficient, “fun” is the better choice and customs can help you out.
Not trying to be insulting to anyone. Just how it is
Aka. Nuking everything with P47D, the most effectiveway to farm score
If you can’t fight them join them, I complained the Rocket spam in Normandy and how broken are those rockets, the Devs didn’t give a shite, and I join their fun club just to see my kill feed going up per pair of rockets
P-47 is the poster child, But beaufighter, bf110 g-2 and most tanks can easily wrack up the same kill counts.
I don’t remember tanks has any power in Normandy, as soon as they spawn they are pretty much scrapt metal against any US planes
sorry Im not talking about normandy specifically or a faciton. just generally
Same in other campaign but maybe Berlin and $talingrad, those doesn’t favor tanks either
ahh well. All I can say is what I experience…and I enjoy nuking with tanks…flame panzer is a favourite for big scores. (I tank in moscow, stalingrad, normandy and tunisia both sides…ill give you that normandy has shorter life expectancy)
“Y U kill me! U no kill me! I kill U! gAmE bRoKeN!”
Stop caring about kills or XP or whatever. I know I’m a bit of a different kind of player but I play immersively and focus entirely on my Squad roles. Yes yes play to win and all that but that doesn’t mean you have to be a sweater or SuperN00bDestroyer420xD. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Sometimes I’m at the very top of the scoreboard, sometimes I’m at the very bottom
Now onto vehicles. Every vehicle has its pros, cons, and roles to play. If your particular vehicle isn’t fighting the enemy vehicles so well you can still focus on fighting infantry. You’re still the supporting the team either way
Did you not read the post it’s for the event he can’t meet the quota And honestly the 20,000 is a bit outrageous for some people.
I actually do extremely well with the AT field gun. Often times on par or BETTER than with a tank.
For me its all about positioning when I use that thing. Wide flanks, rooftops, hills, etc are all outstanding with it. My only issue is that the braces cause some really weird positioning issues. If they made them adjust to the ground they were on, within reason, that thing would be great!
Being able to angle a couple more degrees downward would be really nice too, but not mandatory.
Is there a specific tank type in general you are having issues with? I know you said you’ve played for 2 years, but due to changes here and there some methods of AT (weakpoints, ammo type to use against certain ones, etc) can change.
My prime examples of this are the really small lightweight tanks such as stuarts, Pumas, and the armored cars on Tunisia.
I know a lot of people seem to have trouble killing them, but what a surprising amount of players don’t know is the armor is so thin that AP shells (Especially of larger calibers) often won’t detonate when passing through. Instead, loading up HE and hitting the right spot with that (I do it ALL the time with the Normandy field guns against the Pumas, hitting the frontal ammo rack) will one shot things!
The heavier tanks, with sloped armor and the right angle though… they are hard to kill, as they should be.
Now, I know how you feel about the merge, but one thing about it that will help for the previous situation (IF players are smart enough to use them) are the 80mm mortars for the mortarman class.
Most players don’t know this but you can actually KILL TANKS with these. Even if they are sitting way back (80mm has a range of 350m). This makes them extremely effective as AT weapons.
Ultimately, my point is there are multiple ways to obtain the desired outcome, though I think more focus needs to be put into balancing the options. One of the things that is killing the game right now is just how strong select “strategies” with certain character types and certain equipment simply beat out all other options.
They fix that, they will bring a lot of players back and a lot of new players in.
