Comparison of Normandy Campaign Guns

Yes, but I believe it’s about how to buff american weapons or give Americans something better. Adjust MG34/42 would affect the balance of almost all campaigns(nerf MG34 = germans get nothing to use in Moscow and Berlin because their SMGs are trash), which is a highly complicated thing. But in my opinion the most effective and easy way is to decrease the recoil of M2 carbine

I mean, nerf soviet SMGs some, nerf MG 34 and 42, buff M1, M2, and M2A1 carbines (probably like you said, by significantly reducing their vertical recoil), and buff the stirling (Probably again via recoil), while reworking sniper rifles in the campaigns, seems to me to be the best way to balance things out?

Not gonna happen I believe, considering russian players make up one third of the whole playerbase and nerf PPD/PPsh, their most used weapon(they use it more often than their LMGs) would cause serious consequences(let alone it’s already been buffed once in CBT)

M2 Carabine is garbage for such a late weaopon to the game :grimacing: and now they add it another one of those with diffrent skin for gold order and only for assault

And this is why I made a suggestion thread on the topic; Suggestion to Adjust M1 / M2 Carbine Series Recoil to Improve Game Balance [Mathematical Comparison]

I just hope that the Devs have come up with sensible formulae that take all the key elements of the RL weapon like: calibre, projectile grain, muzzle velocity, weight of the weapon and resultant recoil into consideration. I think tinkering with weapon properties for the sake of some ppls perception of balance is just wrong. There are other ways to balance the game. The vehicles and weapons should be represented as authentically as possible in order to give players a better sense of immersion. Rebalancing for eg around ammunition availability or similar factors makes far more sense to me.

They rather obviously haven’t as things stand right now.

Different factions will have stronger weapons in various campaign. For example Germany was the only one with actual universal MGs way superior than the others. Same with the StG44. Same goes with USSR and its SMGs, they were superior to the others’ SMG. One either accepts that or we have a game where everybody has the same things but with different cosmetics

“Ya cannae change the laws of physics laddie” - Enlisted clearly doesn’t abide by this quote.

huh?

Too obtuse a quote ? Must be a generation thing…

Let me try another way.

IF you advertise a WWII game and show pictures of WWII equipment then the expectation of the average person would be that the Devs have made some effort to reproduce that equipment to the best capacity of their game engine. The second order assumption is that modern advanced game engines have reasonably robust physics engines capable of recreating various aspects of the laws of physics be it in regard to ballistics or other physical interactions. Now combining all these factors together with known values for said WWII equipment, one would hope that you arrive at the original premise of what is advertised works as expected.

The point we’ve arrived at is that atm in Enlisted this isn’t the case - bugs aside.

Interesting non-suggestion mate

more of a comment on the weapon charts compiled as part of the overall discussion.

or better yet it could be an implicit suggestion, would that rest better with you ?

Nah, i just bored hearing people reeeing about “devs dont make realistic things” in a arcade game and “nerf X german gun” and not i am not a german main

Fair enough, although I’m not sure we’re talking cross purpose here. I’m also in that camp - ie don’t nerf stuff just make it authentic.
In relation to the arcade game, well its all about setting expectations I guess. If you’ve played WT, they beak up that game into Arcade, Realistic and Simulator modes, Enlisted isn’t big enough for that yet, so atm its just juggling Squads vs Lone Solider. Now I’ve played enough of the FPS games now, so the Lone Soldier mode holds absolutely no interest for me, but I do like the Squad concept and see its potential, so perhaps at some stage when there is enough players in Enlisted writ large they can sharpen up the line between Arcade and a more realistic mode.

Fair points. Yeah i ve played WT, a realistic main these days. Also yeah i am not interested for the Lone mode as well since imo the great/unique feature of Enlisted in the squad concept. And i also agree on the potential of this game.
