Commonwealth Cosmetics - “Far Eastern Front” Edition - Part 1, Expanding Usage
.
Introduction
Greetings and salutations, friends!
Yes, it is I again, crawling out of my cosy foxhole to share a brew - and, incidentally, a suggestion while I’m at it. So take a cuppa, settle in, and let’s get started.

Now, as you - my dear and unquestionably intelligent reader (and, if I may say so, probably rather handsome too, we should have lunch sometime) - have no doubt deduced from the title, today’s topic is cosmetics!
I’ve written about cosmetics before, and while that earlier suggestion remains a splendid source of inspiration, it’s grown slightly outdated as development of the game marches on. Therefore, I present a more focused follow-up, centred on the upcoming additions to Commonwealth cosmetics arriving with the “Far Eastern Front” Major Update.
Old Suggestion: British Customization Options - Mega Suggestion
This is Part 1 of 2.
Part 1 - this post - covers expanding the use of existing or soon-to-arrive cosmetics.
Part 2 will cover brand-new cosmetic concepts and will follow shortly.
Right then. Onwards!
Leather Jerkin
Many thanks to Lance Corporal Fisher, our model for today (he had no choice; I pay his salary).
Further in-game examples:

What is the Leather Jerkin? Well, to steal a quote from my own previous post:
Given how ubiquitous the Leather Jerkin was among Commonwealth troops in Europe, across all seasons of the year, I believe that all six new Leather Jerkin cosmetics arriving as winter gear in the Major Update should also be added to the Normandy Campaign at the same time.
Straightforward change, historically grounded, easy implementation of a must-have cosmetic.
- Aye.
- No.
Jumpers
Due to High Command directives, Lance Corporal Fisher cannot model the selection of company jumpers, so Staff Sergeant Collins has kindly stepped in. (I don’t pay him - he just likes being looked at. Peculiar man).
Further examples in-game:

Currently, we have 12 variants of the jumper, each worn over green a battledress.
Only 1 is commonly available.
The other 11 exist solely on the Flamethrower No. 2 Event Squad from last Halloween, except for a white jumper variation also available for tankers.
With the coming winter cosmetics for Italy and the Commonwealth, it would be the perfect time to finally make all 12 jumper variants available in both the Bulge and Normandy Campaigns.
Some could argue that only the beige variants ought to be added. I doubt they’ll be many, but I’ve included poll options for both all-jumpers and beige-only jumpers.
Beige only jumpers:

- Aye, all of them.
- Aye, but only the beige ones.
- No.
Desert outfits in the Pacific
Lance Corporal Fisher has returned - improved. (He has been replaced with an android; fewer complaints. Missis Fisher will cope).
Until the day we receive proper tropical outfits - and I sincerely hope that day comes sooner rather than later - the best short-term solution is to allow Tunisia Campaign uniforms to be used in the Pacific.
Many of the warm-weather uniforms worn in Tunisia and greater North Africa were also used in Burma, so from a historical standpoint this is not merely acceptable - it’s also accurate.
I do have many ideas for actual tropical gear, but those belong in Part 2. For now, copy-and-paste practicality will do nicely.
Teaser for Part 2 (not part of this suggestion proper)

- Aye.
- No.
The End
That’s all from me - for now. Keep an eye out for Part 2: “Building Onwards”.
Until next time, dear reader, and remember:
It’s better to be feared than loved - but it’s far more important to look good while doing either.
Signed - Lt. Ogge King, 3rd Experimental Tea Infusion and Small Arms Appreciation Company, Home Guard (Reserve),
God save the King.
