Commander RTS Mode

Hello!

I’ve been playing RTS games for a very long time, after seeing the chaotic battles of Enlisted with both players and AI soldiers, I would love to see a full on RTS battle between players, maybe even allowing them full control of all of their active squads at the same time.

In my vision of this mode, it should function almost the same as your usual Squad Battles game mode, in even bigger scale - as well as allowing players to look at the battlefield from above.

I know this is an FPS game, but in my opinion? This could be amazing to have all those AI mechanics, aswell as vehicles in birds-eye view.

Please let me know of your thoughts!

You are just describing a totally different game, i recommend you to play other rts games that have the ability of direct control such as assault squad or call to arms (the latter is releasing a ww2 expansion later this year)

Adding this “gamemode” will just take a lot of time and resources.

Idk man, I really like that Enlisted is working hard on improving the AI aswell as having this awesome graphic engine.

I still see this as a possibility to be implemented in some way(Maybe in a bigger battle event)

Yes, I realize this is an FPS game, but I do think that there is a place for an RTS mode, even if a limited one, in here.

And yeah, I’m suggesting this after already checking other RTS games.

We still have 1/2 of the game left so i wouldn’t expect any large events like this one in a while,

By this reasoning, lets just also create a sims type of game where my machinegunner can go to university, graduate and then to space.

Them you know that there are more than enough RTS games available and Enlisted would just end up being a copy of others.

This game is a lot like Red Orchestra and that one has commander rol. They could add some other soldiers Rols like commander or something that can request off map support and draw on map and place objectives.

The problem roles work differently in this game. you don´t pick one at the start of the match

we had discussion of a commander role before.

but, in current session, not everyone even play for the objective, i don’t think they will even follow someone telling them to do something.

than you have the problem of deciding who is going to be commander. considering that it’s a free to play, no offence but i do not trust the fist one that applys for it.

it’s an important role at everyone hands. and as such, should not be allowed.

about the main topic, i don’t think it’s a good idea.
first of all, this would require huge effort, moneys and above all, time. something that the devs currently do not have considering that there are many issues that still need going to be fixed.

and enlisted is no RTS at all. doesn’t belong to enlisted. as there are many others factors to consider.
but for the sake of time, it’s not the case.

I would still like to see(probably in the far future) a kind of Commander role or so - someone to guide the team towards objectives and as a result they get rewards…

RTS mode probably is a huge stretch from now(If ever added in some way), I just hope we see more sort command approach towards those Squad battles

I had similar suggestion but on smaller scale, and tbh I think it suits the game better.

Just spit-balling: This seems like something that could be added via the UI to player-created squads. When you form your squad from your contacts, the person who forms the squad could get the ability to draw routes and objectives on the map. Yes, UI design can be obnoxious, but it’s not that difficult – depending on the engine and the available tools.
