Changing the paratrooper spawn mechanic

Make aircraft drop before it gets into range of AA (since it’s not possible to counter) and give fighter pilots a notification “transport plane with troops incoming, protect it at all cost” and give fighters 2x exp for shooting down planes untill the drop.

Makes thing less stupid but still usable.

Yeah, I think it’s all abou luck currently. But my opinion is that it’s not a problem. I know lot of people will not share it with me.

You know me.
Current state of paratroopers just suits nowadays concept of enlisted. You would love to change so many things it’s really not just about paratroopers.
But from perspective bof current enlisted, I don’t really think paratroopers are super broken or in need of nerf.
But it’s understandable someone like you really aren’t happy with them. I respect that.

I don’t want a nerf.
I want logical and sensible mechanics.

Explain why players are prohibited from bringing the paratroopers they want to the battlefield?

This runs counter to the claim of unrestricted liberty. In the end they still restrict players, and what’s worse is they even ban players from carrying these things.

The truth is if you don’t have limits, you can’t shape the rules of the game. I don’t think any of the solutions discussed in this thread are as effective as respawn scores.

In my opinion, all the ban things appearance and the nerfing of the modification of the weapon properties, are the worst.

That doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
I won’t know if it actually works for ppl until I try it.

The idea of displaying “orders” to those with obligations is a good one. I want something other than fighter planes.
Various support requests, notifications for CP attacks/defenses, etc… Each should be accompanied by an incentive.
Unless it becomes visual spam.

It’s not needed cuz it’s very casual game. You don’t have to be good gamer to be good at enlisted, that’s just fact.

This would completely change current enlisted for what it is rn.
Plus it would completely annihilate concept of premium squads. Casual players wouldn’t be able to pick better units (premium) so often. It would completely kill the game. It’s just impossible, it’s too late.

Devs could introduce it as seperate mode later on, but classic squad mode has to stay as sandbox.
The thing you want is for completely different playebase than enlisted currently has. That’s what I think.
F2P game has to be casual friendly in the first place.

A loooong time ago I made a suggestion about “request markers”.
Players would be able to place a marker “cas needed” etc and other players would get 2x and additional basic exp for fulfiling the request.

I wonder if it’s still somewhere on the forum.

I agree with this one.

Though I can already imagine a (made up) situation:

“restricted” player: buff MkB!!!
“spam” player: noo! are you crazy

It would be very entertaining.

Considering that it took them several years to get 5000~10K concurrent users, adding some playbase is not a bad thing.

Good idea.

I consider this game to be a casual game, so I was consistently against anyone suggesting gameplay that required “advanced teamwork”.
This is because the game does not have enough mechanisms to actively cooperate with players. The team play in this game is born only by the accidental interaction of individual stand plays.
However, if the game has a system that rewards players for their own cooperation by giving visual guidance and experience bonuses, etc., more advanced cooperative play may be possible.

Well, how it works is up to the designer.
For example, I don’t want to fill up the screen with a huge text “Place the ammo box!!” when playing the Engineer.
How to place visual guidance on the screen in an easy-to-understand manner so that it does not become spam and does not spoil the atmosphere…

I think it’s a good idea to add more things in the future.
But DarkFlow will pay for the management and administration costs of everything, so they will prioritize.

That’s where I think if they reworked the “ranking” system to include rewards for hitting milestones beyond just “Marshal” rank, the rewards could include 100 gold every so often. Giving even F2P players a chance to obtain premium things if they play hard enough. It would keep the playerbase going strong.

I think along with that, my Throwable flares, used to mark an area of enemies for teammates, obtained from ammo box, and gives assists suggestion might also help with that. Adding both could greatly help teamwork, even by strangers, as it will have a direct incentive for both sides.

Noop

This is the main contradiction in the vast majority of spam topics. Because SO OFTE0N essentially crowds out the space for other ways of gameplays.

The restriction mechanism itself does not conflict to the concept of premium units, the premium units themselves still have their own uniqueness, and removing the slot restriction will allow players to use their high-level units more rationally, such as my ba-11 and BM-8-24 etc…

Reasonability is very important. For the gameplay itself.

Without all restrictions, only a few powerful units can be used, while others are just clowns.

SO OFEN things, It’s essentially a situation that “I just like to play what I like and not care the everyone else”. SO OFEN things, squeezed out other elements of the game such as snipers, engineers, fighters, etc., can’t make these elements organically combined. Because in a space the so-called SO OFEN shoots the player as a balloon and he inflates very huge. And It even squeezed out most of the weak and clown premium units

But for most players they don’t necessarily want that when they come to this infantry War Thunder game or a first person RTS or a Battlefield replacement.

@SexyTent
i agree that if the plane become too easy to shoot, it ould remove a lot of the paratrooper squad utility. but as it, you might as well remove the plane and just instantly spawn the soldier parachuting as @VoyoMayPL said.
basically, as it is, paratrooper are a bit too powerful (not overwhelmingly so, probably) because they have basically instant spawn on everywhere on the map with little to no method to counter them.

imagine if radio operator can call artillery and it just start full bombardment in moments, or if calling in bombarding run just spawn the bomber planes near the bombing area instead of far fuckoff range and having to fly in.

as it is the paratrooper is basically near-instant spawn anywhere on the map with 0 counterplay to the spawning mechanic. it would be nice if there’s at least a ingame radio shout of “PARATROOPER SEEN” like when air strike is incoming.

this way we can anticipate to spot the parachutes instead and try to shoot those brave lads.

… wait a minute, can we shoot the parachutes and make them fall to death? because that sounds kinda awesome.

This sounds like a good idea.
As I mentioned earlier, having the paratroopers teleport to their destination is out of touch with reality, but I imagine it can’t be helped due to the design of the game.
However, if such a meta is allowed, it would be nice to have a meta where an alert is sent to the defenders the moment the paratroopers invade.

@VoyoMayPL has a great idea to make players work together, so combining this with yours will make sky battles a lot more fun.

XD ok then, Im not the one complaining that they are op, so enjoy the game until then

truth, but what about the box? honestly a squad with no eng is not really a squad

After unlocking all new squads have no engineer at the beginning, so paratroopers without an air deployment are no different.

Nah, that’s nonsense.
Imagine need to first level up option to unlock tank for tank crews or planes for pilot.
