The riders are already present in matches, so adding this wouldn’t change much. I mean, you can also stay in a motorcycle, but both this and the 221 serve much better as ways to get on the flank and build a rally
by the same logic,
would you rather the 221 to be taking a tanker slot?
and at the same time, never to be used ever again ?
i disagree.
beside, this could be a slighlty better armored rider.
it’s no different than a bike with the ptrs.
trade off being, you have one less soldier ( due to the 221 being a 2 seater ) but thinner walls to protect the crew ( the gunner is… kinda a goner due to how expose he is. but that’s a separate issue )
which could be the beginning into making riders " better " by expanding their arsenal beyond mere bikes.
As i said, it’s nice idea but not applicable on 10vs10 battles
a rally point on the side IS.
and destroy rear APC of the enemy team.
you name it.
i’d reckon still more effective than saboteurs so…
It’s in the game already, what the hell do you mean?
This Topic is about the change of the classification from mechanized unit to infantry. (Now it’s considered mechanised unit).
Riders are already in the game
Riders are mainly mobile infantry ![]()
And what is the conclusion from this?
You know, we have been talking about AA tanks for quite some time now, the two premiums are probably a test whether there is even interest for this.
If we keep suggesting a rework for the rider class, the devs will consider it for sure.
We don’t have enough players in match to have another two or more campers in scout car
What’s the difference compared to taking bike?
most people don’t camp on bikes, so after they see how trash this vehicle is, they also won’t camp them.
I just recalled that back when the Manchuria map wasn’t available, there was a hypothetical Pacific invasion event pitting the Soviet Union against Japan. Japan got a Japanese Tiger tank, which was a massive buff for them. As for the Soviet side, they only got an anti-tank rifle mounted on an extremely unstable motorcycle. It was utterly useless, even worse than the standard motorcycle with a machine gun.

Germany had it even worse. This vehicle also took up a tank slot. Honestly, a Panzer II C performs far better. There aren’t many large maps allowing constant flanking maneuvers. Its anti-tank rifle deals less damage than 37mm high-explosive rounds.
Frankly, the rider class deserves a rework. Riders don’t have to be strictly tied to motorcycles. Their role is more akin to armored mobile reconnaissance and vanguard units.
They mostly don’t camp with bike because:
1: there is no zoom on mounted MG
2. They try but they are dead immediately due to lack of protection
Anyway sometimes you can meet guys camping with it in battle even now
I don’t believe having no zoom is a major concern. It’s with the aiming being buggy, with the MG not pointing at where you’re actually aiming.
I’ve also seen people hold out very long on the bikes, it’s a very useful took, because it’s a no-recoil MG.
And the problem with the 221 is that even though it technically can protect the driver, he himself cannot do anything. And the gunner is dead on arrival.
It also can’t defend itself against infantry.
I don’t believe the problem of camping will be prevelent.
no zoom? no problem… abuse the vehicle camera FOV feature.
