Capture assist points for tank, give them a reason to push forward

Tanks by themselves can’t capture an objective by themselves, but should increase the effectiveness of the players on the objective that are capturing it. Essentially increasing each soldiers input from 1x to 1.25x.

For each soldier that gets a tick of points for objective capture, the tank gets assist points while it is present with them on the point.

Open to suggestion, but there needs to be more reasons for tanks to push forward out of the greyzone.

just support me by killing enemy infantry trying to get it, that is the best way to capture any point.

Then maybe also keep them from swarming the tank with demo charges

tanks are actually doing their supposed to role right now. tanks were never meant to be charging into enemy. they provided direct fire support and destroyed fortified positions.

tanks dont need to get forward, we just need a way to flank it with other tanks or way to reach that tank with infantry. and that could be achieved by having bigger engagement zones around caps.

I def agree that the greyzone could be pushed back around certain edges, but i definitely am appreciative that AT weapons are at the best state they’ve been in a long while. Plus with the addition of the new AT squad emplacement, greyzone campers now shake in fear :smiling_imp:

Greyzone needs to pushed back a long way. There are several maps that a rally can be built almost 50 meters from the cap and be in the gray zone

Thats the issue of maps design not tanks

exactly. problem was never in tanks, it was in maps that force front to front confrontation and without way for infantry to reach them in gray zone.

Getting low xp for maybe capturing a cp for the high risk of getting fausted sounds like a pretty bad deal, especially for TDs.
As robhir stated, at least meds+ are not there to capture cp but to camp and destroy fortifications, tanks, and camping defenders, especially since their engine power are nerfed because DF reasons.

I would rather say allow light tanks to capture points as well but only count the tank as one capturer and not the entire crew. While they have worse armor and guns, they also have higher rof and kinda better speed and some are supposed to support infantry from closer distances. Also would give light tanks a role beyond serving as cannon fodder for end-game tanks.

They would definitely need to make the Machinegunner slot able to function on its own then too. Just to make them capable enough to push like that.

Well. That only works if people think it is a great idea to attack tanks from the front. May be helpful for IS and KVs and BT and T-28s but overall still slow, blind, and a big soft target for Faust in CQC/ worst situation for an tank.

Or if tanks are used to breakthrough.

I doubt this mean driving 10m in front of the house to shoot the people inside if you can do it from 200m as well.

Almost every single game today, I had people running up to the front of my tank to try to kill me. I think that just proves my point.

Perhaps it would make players be smarter about attacking tanks too.

I agree.
It is a good idea to make tanks a more enjoyable vehicle and to make players more co-operative.
One point I would like to add is that tanks should also be given assist points for base defence.
Tanks and soldiers who stay on the defence target should be given appropriate points while there.
