You said the only problem is with troops. And you are right, but there is more. The system itself is grindy you can pay for all the bonus but it is slow as hell, there is no difference between easy task and difficult task in term of reward and sometimes you get mission from other campaign. Again, you said in your first post you dont see problem with the progression system, i see many.
Yeah you can play it - but it’s goign to be an exercise in frustration and the pressure to spend money will be immense.
In practical terms I do no think the game has a viable F2P function - even tho’ it is possible to do so.

I bought that premium Panzer 38t, because I like tanks. Spawned into a game of invasion at monastery. We won the game in 12 minutes, they only managed to kill me at the last objective, but I was almost out of ammo anyway.
Their pilot kept missing me by around 50 feet.
I got 75 kills, and destroyed 4 tanks.
