Literally few months back it was exact opposite. Now allies cannot farm bots so it’s problem, lmao.
Stalin*
He didn’t like*
Literally everyone else was indispensable cuz nobody really cared about them. Everybody was worried enough about themselves to care about somebody else. So naturally everyone had to act with that fact in mind.
Most of soviets were scared/incompetent to oppose their rule. Those who were competent/naive enough disappeared pretty quickly.
It was an incredibly cynical regime. And frankly, nothing much has changed in 100 years.
Wars gives everyone dirty hands
Germans slaughtered non combatants, Russians did the same thing, Britain Slaughtered the French (fleet) and bombed the shit out of civilian cities, America Sat back and let some Russian Atrocities slide (like Warsaw) and nukes. Its as old as time. Im not going to go into detail.
Ultimately everyone just wants to take their slice at the end. (When I say everyone Im talking governing body)
Depends on what you define as dirty hands.
It’s difference to kill for your own life/for lifes your loved ones/for made up ideology/for resources/or for the fact that you simply can.
Every nation has an individual who should rot in prison. But should that whole nation be held responsible?
I think in most cases, no.
No…agreed
Always “initially” comes from the top
But i doubt that’s much consolation to anyone forced to carry out or not intervene by those instructions
*dirty hands doesnt necessarily mean you are the bad nut, just the hands used
You have it mixed all over the place
Please keep this in mind
Fascists were in italy and led by mussolini
Nazis were germans led by hitler
Bruh, stop spreading your communist propaganda here. This is the English speaking section, most people at here won’t agree your thought.
Just keep your thoughts in the Russian speaking section. I am sure that some Russian and Chinese at there would like to listen to your “glorious” thoughts.
Nazis were fascists lol, It’s not mutually exclusive.
Plus fascists were in Spain as well.
Before the duck arrives, fun fact:
While in the English language WW2 Germany is mostly called “Nazi Germany”, in Soviet Union it was always called “Fascist Germany”.
The most likely reason for this is that Nazi is short for National-Socialist and talking about a war between two “Socialist” states (NSDAP and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) wouldn’t have the same PR in mass culture as fighting against “Fascism” (which is not entirely wrong but still nice linguistic gymnastics).
The term “Germano-fascist invaders” coined during WW2 is still used in Russian to this day.
???
- Ukrainians were part of the Soviets, how can Soviets dislike Soviets?
- Ukrainian land was Soviet land, how can you “gain access” to your land?
???
Warsaw rebellion starts without waiting for the Russians and without informing them in advance because Poles want no Russian rule (understandable).
Warsaw rebellion fails (as expected).
Russians don’t want to rush to Warsaw and die in millions to save the Poles’ rebellion and then go home at best (understandable).
… Russian atrocity?
and threw nukes at civilians, right lol
Germans were killing other germans just for being Jewish.
There was upcoming peasant revolt in Ukraine, so Stalin purposely starved 3 millions of them to death.
Plus some Ukrainians that allied with Germany hunted down other Ukrainians.
Nationality doesn’t mean a thing.
Stalin purposefully held his armies in front of warsaw.
I dont think Ukrainians were the only “soviet” citizens that became soviets without really asking what they think about it.
Nor they werent exactly the onlyones who were killed / murdered under soviet regime aka genocide.
By killing its previous owners or moving them to siberia.
Perhaps referring poorly to katyn massacre.
Well atleast they had reason to do so other than “These guys dont exactly fit in my soviet narrative so lets get rid of them by genocide or move them to siberia”
I’m making fun of the “Soviets didn’t like Ukrainians” meme.
Hungers were a real issue in pre-war USSR and the reasons were simply not caring about the common people, but caring about industrialization (plus suppressing the freedom loving ones yes).
Yet more ethnic Russians suffered from hungers than Ukrainians or any other ethnicity.
The Volga region was hell on earth during those years.
And that’s an atrocity?
To not send your men to die for another country’s failed uprising?
Stalin doesn’t seem to get a break, if he sends men to die or not he still does an atrocity lol
Because not everyone wanted to be a Soviet.
Yeah because of a war.
The Soviets intentionally didnt help when they had the possibility to help.
And why should they if they gonna turn it commie anyway?
Not going to dwell on it. I only mentioned a few of the MANY, everyone committed atrocities. No need to get defensive.
Don’t get me wrong, the USSR did a lot of messed up shit (just like other Empires), and I wouldn’t want it back for a day.
Just funny how some people label “ussr bad” without any context like more Russians starving than Ukrainians during the hungers of 1920s-1930s or not sending your men to die for another nation that explicitly dislikes your lot.
I didnt label russians bad, nor did i single them out.
Had a good go at all parties.
Id say theres quite massive differency between hunger caused by independent reasons rather than made up hunger by political decision aka holomodor.
And during holomodor years the famine was substantially worse in Ukraine than in any other region of soviet union.
Not to mention oddly, regardless of famine USSR still was exporting quite alot of grain.
Russian regions like the Volga literally had a humanitarian catasprophe just as well.
Armed policemen were assigned to cemeteries to prevent hunger crazed people from digging up fresh corpses for meat, family cannibalism was noted on numerous occasions, people were reduced to bare survival.
That’s “Soviets” starving “Russians”.
Nobody cared if you were Ukrainian or not. (if you can suppress some freedom lovers it’s a ‘bonus’ ofc)
Famine in Ukraine was just one in a series. Which doesn’t make it better, but there were much worse cases too.
It’s simply well known because Russians don’t want to shout about Moscow starving Russians but Ukrainians don’t mind shouting about Moscow starving Ukrainians.
