FG 42 and AVS 36 were not used during Berlin in significant numbers. Putting them at lvl 21 will mean that many players will spam them on all their rifle-wielding troops. It’s a big hit on realism that the main weapon of medium-high level players will be these, and it’s disappointing for players who grinded for them in Normandy and Moscow to use them on all their troops again.
The VG 1-5 would be better as a later-game main rifle for the Axis since it was produced in larger numbers than the FG 42 (~10k vs 7k) despite being only produced for a few months (vs a couple years). It is also semi-auto only, so it is less suited to assault class and more suited to rifle-users.
And the AVS 36 should be an extremely rare weapon by the time the Soviets got to Berlin, so it, along with the FG 42, should be much higher on the campaign line. The AVT 40, while also rare, would still be less rare than the AVS 36 at this point, since the AVS 36 was removed from service and scrapped.
A number of Fallschirmjaeger units were present in and around Berlin. I don’t think it should get removed but I wouldn’t mind seeing it restricted to FJ units.
There’s a total of two fallschirmjaeger units currently in the lineup in Berlin.
I literally posted a picture of an FG42 laying on the streets of Berlin.
TLDR: An entire division of Fallschirmajeger defended Berlin. Multiple units reflagged into volksgrenadier units. Remnants and kampfgruppe of many units were there. Luftwaffe stocks raided to arm or reinforce units.
FG42 belongs. maybe not as a standard issue ,but it belongs in berlin.
It’s worth noting that the version in berlin is the early version instead of the later FG 42 II, which is in the photo. Though I assume that’s only because the devs will keep the more common FG 42 II version as a sniper weapon for later.
It would be best if the sniper-only FG 42 II was available earlier in the campaign, and the FG 42 early version required a very high level since it is rarer IRL and can be equipped by most units in game.
