Berlin balanced after last update?

100% Agree. The cap time is perfect at the moment. Even more time would be able to find a place.
I played 2 invasion games tonight to get the bolt action kills, 1 on each faction. I had zero issues while defending or attacking. Axis atleast gets the chance to retreat or spawn a new squad to defend now after the front shifts. Other than the first wave that Allies have to ride out, very little has changed. A competent team can still attack and finish the match in less than 15 minutes.
But I do think there should be more cover for attackers. Especially in spawn areas. I lost count of how many times I’ve been killed by an MG-34 before I could get out of the spawn area. Also, the ability to call artillery on the only way out for the attackers from their spawns has to be looked on. The situation is not great for the defenders either. But it’s a lot more frustrating when you get your squad wiped before you can move while having limited tickets.
A step in the right direction however small. The current balance is most likely due to Axis players trying out the new update, and the event forcing players to use bolt action rifles. I’ve seen Soviet teams focusing fully on getting kills with rifles today. While, Axis have been making good use of the opportunity to get some much needed wins. Life is easier for Axis with rifles anyway because enemies run towards them for the most part.

I’ve been winning much more as Germany today. Only got to play Conquest and Invasion. No Assault yet.

I haven’t really noticed the new covers that have been added. So i can’t tell if it help a lot.
The new spawns, didn’t notice neither if it’s a big game changer

However the caps taking more time to be captured in Invasion help a lot. At least i think so. I still have seen Soviets rush 2 caps in a row.
Overall it feels like there’re now real fights over caps. And not just losing a cap because a single 100kg bomb was enough to wipe out the defender without giving them the time to react.
I’ve reached really high scores in engineer points (+100) which means people really had the time to use what have been built.

But, but… in a few rounds it didn’t feel that there was a true fight from Soviets. I’ve seen rounds without a single russian plane. There were some rounds where Soviets wouldn’t even flank, just attacking from the front again and again.

I think it would be nice to know how long the capping time have been increased. 5 seconds, 30 seconds ? And which caps have been affected. Otherwise it’s easy to say that now it’s much more difficult for attackers while maybe it’s just a matter of a few seconds. Or maybe a cap isn’t even affected by the increased time. After all, it says “the time required to capture some strategic points has been increased”

It will need a few more days to really judge the changes. At least to wait that the rifle kill mission is over

russian teams will adapt from the easy kills habit they had befor to pushing objectives, and we will see then if the balance is present. may take some days/weeks.

right now, as you stated, its a small but good step on the balance issue.

lets see later as player adapts if we see the same improvements as today.

see for example on the first point on “herman goering strasse” map. there are more cover around on the soviet side on the woods side.

btw the assault map was present on alpha times. “Ministry Garden (Assault)”, and as far as i remember i only lost once on that map. its a hard one to atack both objectives without a proper team.

yes they are ‘perfect’ right now. started leveling germans earlier this week and its really easy now. I can just ignore cap zones and just run & gun soviets down. Typically attackers lose so many tickets at first stage that game is already lost if they even manage capture it. Personaly i have won more matches that ended in that bridge then matches where soviets managed to capture it…

But its really relaxing to level axis atm, you just can push so far toward soviet spawn cause there isnt any real consequences cause there is so much time to fall back after killing soviets next to spawn.

and im pretty sure you realised already that map where axis attack cap times was left alone, it takes like 20 sec or even less to cap zones alone…

they already did. you see how they try swim across that river at köningsplatz and at opera house? oh holy fuk we laughed when they thought that they could try flank from there

Definetly, good thing is we can use 250kg to clear spawn after we die inside it.

atleast 2-3x times what it was before patch, but soviets only. germas are still fast in that train map.

Mayby cause they got beat to submission? They get raped to that bridge so hard that its so unbeliable if they play this game ever again:D Today i played with my friend and there was 2 köningsplats invasion in row… oh my gud we laughed after loading screen, cause we know it will be same spawn rape again… too bad there wasnt same opponents…

and no im not crying, im one who benefits with these changes, but im afraid how long it will last… hopefully till i can grind german to max in berlin:D

the train station one? i think its fair only on the first point… other ones should have higher cap times
played it only once today. we didnt even captured the first objective. they stopped us pretty good.
shame on us x)

cap points either as atacker or defender should be harder to capture , more time to cap it solved alot of problems right now. we finnaly have a fair chance to win a match as axis.

yes, that train one. i dont think its fair and BALANCED even on first point cause thats same problem for soviets on 2 other maps.

Currently most maps are not even so fun to play, soviets get just annihilated almost every match. Last night most matches ended in first point and was pure base rape fest. For something like 20 games soviets managed to win only one in invasion mode. Also that was only time they managed to advance further then 3rd point

Yea suddenly Soviets are getting beaten like crazy after new patch… Devs love to overdoo things and fine tweaking is not something that should be expected from Russians lol… everything is brutal… things before and after nerfs lol !

I play every side on every campaing, already maxed soviets in berlin so there is only normandy and berlin axis left… Too bad fukked balance so badly. its not just fun beat opponents on first cap. Usually they even give up and last minutes are just boring

The real problem of Invasion is the defenders don’t get any punishment for losing too many guys defending a single cap not justifying to intentionally retreat to a better cap or they lose their reinforcements. Have the defenders 1000 tickets as well while attackers have like 1.5k-2k tickets depending on the map’s difficulty that way, it would force defenders to retreat when necessary instead of getting massacred at the first cap for refusing to retreat costing them tickets prematurely.

yes. whole invasion needs overhaul

I have posted a suggestion about the rework of invasion on the suggestions section after those horrendous experiences in Berlin recently as Soviet attackers. The spawn killing by defenders on attackers especially after capping the Moltke Bridge or the 4th cap of Monastery does hurt the ticket count for attackers significantly while defenders can get away from getting massacred there instead of retreating to the next cap given they get there first before the attackers.

I tried Berlin for the first time after the update. Lost 7 in a row with Germans trying to complete the event mission, then switched to Allies and immediately won 3 in a row

maybe it has to do with the timezone, idk, but… didnt feel balanced
(maps look great though, so theres that)

Definetly time zone thing then. Im not sure if i have seen soviets even win seven times while playing as germans… And i have been playing lot.

Not that winning was too hard before as germans but right now i have something like 95% win rate and over half those are decided at first point, even if attackers cap first point there is no way they can win with 200 tickets. In opera house and köningsplatz havent seen 4rd point even once while defending.

Good if soviets can win at some timezone cause soon there wont be any players in that side when they get smashed by poor game design.

Berlin is far from Balanced as during the day Soviets lose more then offten , while during the night when there are more bots is easy wining !
