The new faster paced format with, in theory, more rewards isn’t the point of contention.
It’s all about variaty and choice, which was stripped away with the BP shops removal. The new BP format did not require its removal, and they could have coexisted perfectly well.

It’s obviously a fixed magazine… There’s no mag release, and it would make more sense for it to be a fixed mag than for some random soldier to be technical enough to make a reliable and functional mag release…
Yeah they just made silver boxes more anoying because now you can get BP guns instead of event ones same with vehicles

Type 38 rifle is one of the best bolt-action guns in the game.
I will probably end up using it in BR2, but Im honestly not thrilled about this addition.

Indeed, the new format would have been greatly aided by the BP shop as well.
Now, you just get given the items of the season. But what if they’re not interesting…? What if they’re all uninteresting…? Not hard to imagine, I’ve been a witness of several such BPs since the introduction…
When that happened in the past, you were golden, because you could use gold tickets to buy your reward of choice… Now though…? Is buying a uninteresting pass and grinding it for 10 days worth 100 gold…?
Only if you were already playing the game… the removal of the BP shop has greatly harmed player retention…

Rename it to Type 38 Carbine (30).
One side gets best MG in the game with undertier, other gets a starter carbine sidegrade (with uptier).

I just watched a video of it, and not only is the mag not accurate to reality as it doesn’t have a mag release, the receiver model is also broken. That thing on the left side of the receiver:

That’s not how that works… that’s the bolt release lever, it’s fuzed to the receiver, it’s not part of the dust cover or the bolt. The other Type 38’s don’t have this broken model and animation:

Not sure if is even possible to make a Mauser action (used by Arisaka) work properly with detachable mags like that.
dev achieved both by simply copypasting full stats from Type 38 Carbine on this gun.

You’d need to widen the magazine space, which would require a lot of work, on both the metal and wood. And you’d need to make a functioning mag release and retention system which would need a lot of custom parts.
So yeah it would work, but you’d need a workshop with the tooling, knowledge, and manpower needed to actually do it well.
