The IIIM can absolutely hold its own against those. It’s a very good tank and the armor is quite good, better than all BR3 German tanks. Just because you have had bad luck doesn’t make it bad. The shells are also amazing for low caliber HE. Practice with it, and it’ll get better.

The gun is very good and can most things pen reliably, sure the HE filler isn’t great but the reload time is so fast you can spam it like crazy and it’s no issue.
Oh I know this, I love the vehicle.
I’m saying what is making it different from the J1, is the layered armour…
And in br3 it doesn’t really work against Shermy, t34 and KV shells.
So, since the 3M gunner have to pinpoint weak spots to stand a chance and br3 opponents just need to shoot in it’s general direction… better play it stealthy.

I usually find taking advantage of the speed and rushing in and catching them by surprise works. A shot to the turret will put them out of commission long enough to pepper them with shots before they can react. You don’t even need to aim for weak spots, just spam the shit out of their turret until the crew runs out trying to fill the gunner spot, like I did in that clip.

Very fun to do, it also makes a surprisingly good rally hunter. Funny to ambush infantry with it.
