Artillery mechanism broken?

but at least it is fair if you could only see the mass gatherings of my teammates in the places I would spam the enemy team didn’t have a chance

because of this people would requiere skill to play these classes

the problem is the radio operator class is so weak that its only trait is the ability to call an artillery strike then it’s useless and he is just a normal infantryman where if you are playing in any invasion mode maps the life span of a normal infantryman is dead after the second wave at best cases

That’s the reason why I disagree with friendly fire.
An already weak class, becomes even weaker, why can we have some buffs on it instead?

A huge cannon shell deals less damage than a hand grenade

yes I agree and decrease the time needed for an artillery strike that would do the trick but what would really turn things on is radio operators getting semi-automatic weapons to be the only class who gets if that would make it more available

because now I only use radio operators in my sniper squad once I call artillery I switch to another member in the squad because he is now a normal infantryman

I already thought about that idea in one of my suggestions Better squads! (with poll)

This could also be an excuse to buff semi auto rifles

no, as there is a long duration between you “firing” the arty/mortar and it landing, leaving plenty of opportunity of allies walking into the line of fire.

Make it so the mortars only get a width of a grid square on the map, and have to hand-aim it instead of getting the range indicator under capture points. Don’t punish people for an action you cannot measure whether they controlled it, or not. Teammates are dumb. AI Teammates are even worse. Imagine top scoring and getting kicked out of a match because a teammate walked into your arty and died because of it.

I agree

well I mean by that I wasn’t spamming the point I knew what I was doing but on many occasions, I fought on the attacking side in invasion mode and all the mortars spamming was on the point nowhere else and the density of the enemy was huge

so that is what i mean most of the spammers are spamming the point leaving no chance to rush or even get near the point because it requires no skill to strike the point where places the enemy pushing from for not knowing the distance was easy

Yes - I just got SVT’s and thought I was prepared for the (stupid) lower damage they do - but no - 2 hits and the guy doesn’t even go to wounded… WTF?? will start another thread…

It once took me 2 headshots to kill a guy with the SVT

My advice:
Upgrade all your M91/30’s and never use SVT
Using SVT’s will just make you destroy your keyboard

a headshot is an OHK with anything, it had to be a fluke.

Headshots always OHK for me with the nagant revolver, and I’ve even had my TOZ nick someone in the head with a lone pellet at long range and still kill.

They actually already had those before CBT. After tech tree rework semi automatics were (hopefully temporarily) removed and replaced by specific action bolts. The reasoning behind that was probably the fact, that they were mostly just a “pistols with extra recoil.” (and we all know how useless even regular pistols are)

Unpopular opinion, I loved the semi-auto rifles in alpha. The semi-auto helps you cap points and defend them early on without SMGs. Their stats were perfect for balance especially since you unlock it very early on. I would love to see a similar setup. Maybe a slight damage buff for emergency long range combats but slightly farther in campaign. But not too up that it feels useless when you unlock.

Me (a guy who has the SVT-38 sniper) will give you the reason why I disagree.

SVT deals 8.5 damage making it very hard to use on long range engagements, sometimes when the enemy is further away, it takes me 2 headshots to kill which is terrible
On short range (with removed scope) it’s nothing better. SMG is much more usable at this range
On medium range is where this rifle works somewhat… okay but even at this range is better to just 1 shot someone with bolt action rifle instead of shooting a guy, doing nothing to him and letting him take cover

Well in alpha they did much more damage.

If you’re talking about Alphatest, they did not have more damage but instead had no recoil and they also had the aiming sircle so you could use them without aiming through iron sights

Semi’s did do 12 at one point at least

I think G41 dealt 9.5 or 10 damage which was more than SVT so it was usable (but still worse than BA)

The problem is, we don’t have any proof and without any footage (which was forbidden) we can only rely on our memories
