You could just add more mortars to the squad.
Why not add an explosive ammo supply point but with alot of limitaions to it like locked behind engineer class 2 or a level 4+ engineer only. Maybe it’s very expensive to produce so you have to choose what to make (that or an MG) or even make it explode when shot to give it an easy counter.
So only make it unavailable for newbies, who already suffer with 4 vs 7 soldiers in their squad, underleveled soldiers without any perks, and unupgraded guns that do less damage. Got it.
Further level limiting stuff is just stupid tbh, new players won’t even know how good the explosives would be.
Fine keep everything the same and no advancement. Everyone will use copy and paste bolt actions and just add different squads that do well…nothing different. Then all noobies will be equal as will the veteran players
Except for skill and experience, which is how it should be.
This game is built around unlocking new squads with new weapons and abilities. That’s just how it is. Skill? Sure. But it’s also free to play and will have steps to grind for
Most of the squads are sidegrades and are perfectly fine. Upgrades are a bad thing tho because they introduce an entry-bar that people have to get past, instead of offering more choice and freedom with sidegrades
I actually like the idea of limiting the number of semi autos per squad. Instead people now run 3 squads of semis and SMGs and anyone with just bolt actions stands no chance
