should not allow airplanes to be selected at the beginning for 30sec-1min or at least disable artillery meant to be used on ground units for 1-2mins (rockets/bombs) but allow air to air combat/dog fights.
right now might as well delay spawn for as long as you can in the first moments of the battle because you just get clustered up to die with poor spawn choice and without any counter or a way to avoid it within 5-10 sec of starting. depending on the map and what side youre on this issue only gets worse.
makes me want to look closer at these battles, it would be interesting if the balance of air space control would reflect what happened in these events. if historically your side has air space control then at the beginning your opponent is prevented from getting airplanes out (or only disable the ability to use bombs/rockets) 1-2mins and for you 30sec-1min. (for example maybe during a historic event it would be laughable to fly an airplane out to bomb troops because you would get shot down immediately). i cant say how being on offense and defense or map design should apply in every case for balanced-historic-realism.
keeping things as they are but just preventing rockets/bombs from being used for 1-2mins would be the best and most simple solution for right now.
Nah, planes are fine the way they are. Their damage models are so useless right now that you can regularly and easily shoot them down with SMG’s, pistols, tanks, bolt actions, even AT guns, yes, people have shot down planes with AT guns. I’m working on shooting one down with the sturmpistole.
Most planes get between 10 to 30 kills at the start, and then get shot down by random AI or a player deciding to shoot up. Until the damage models get buffed so that doesn’t happen, planes should stay the way they are.
Just because of a broken damage model doesn’t mean they get to ruin your first half of the match for no reason with no counter play. Sure, it’s no big deal when you got your favorite squads equipped and you just switch to a different one after it gets killed by a bomb in the first 5 seconds of the match. However when you are trying to lvl up a specific squad/complete a battletask/play as a tank, and you get completely locked out of doing so for the next 3 spawns because of a plane is stupid and should be addressed as soon as possible.
So because of a “damage model” they should just get cheap spawn kills while everyone is in a group and has no chance to react? That logic is astounding
My idea is to rebirth fighters closer to the battlefield, and rebirth bombers farther away from the battlefield, so that when the bomber enters the battlefield, he will bear the risk of being attacked by fighters instead of entering a clean, clean air. A non-threatening sky; this should improve the problem of bombing by bombers at the beginning of the game
Then i have to make suggestion to brake damage model of aa gun but also make it almost automatically wreck any plane they are shooting. Missing 30+ metres and plane goes boom…
An we can call that balanced cause damage model of gun is broken
It would be nice to have a single AAA at the spawn from the start. Just to make it a little bit more interesting.
At the same time, most of the people I get to bomb at the start of the match are those who run to the first point in a straight line like a headless chickens. Every round it works the same, just kill count a bit different. Draw a straight line between spawn and point and drop bomb at 30% length of that line. Is it because planes OP or people are just stupidly predictable.
You can spawn plane 30 seconds or 2 minutes after the start, it won’t make a difference - if your position is predictable, you are going to get bombed.
You don’t need an AAA to shoot it down from the ground, any weapon works, but MGs are the best. Killed 3 planes with mortars. AT rifle works well too. You might think it’s difficult to do from the start but it’s not, planes don’t bomb starting spawn as they know that most people are already running to objective.
Ohh, haven’t thought of that. Yeah then it sucks. Imho planes could spawn at the resupply point, then fighters would arrive first, and bombers laters. Should give plenty of time for everyone.
Also its not about staying in spawn, people is forced to move “opposite” direction of first spawn. No wait allied side is forced until we get our realistic bomb loadout to our planes.
Even if those german 250kg bombs ‘miss’ 30 metres it still wipes whole squad while soviets got much smaller bombs.
Mayby US a 20 is equally good at bombing as german planes but most players never reach required campaing level
Engineers with AA unlocked should start with 1 AA already constructed and manned by capable AI that will not leave it’s post. Buff AA against planes as well. Planes would be fine if they were easier to counter with ground troops.
