I have a significant problem to report about aircrafts. Sometimes when I spawn in one of mine, it is apparently in ‘spectator mode.’ Sometimes I can’t even look straight again, control of the plane is almost non-existant, I did once manage to successfully drop some ordnance on the enemy while in that state but I’ve never been able to resupply and drop a second. Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s experienced this? I don’t know how to fix it either, so whenever it happens it’s like I’d be better off just nose-diving or hitting ESCAPE and clicking SUICIDE.
Yes i get that issue aswell. i tend to just use all the ammo trying to kill enemies and any planes in the air, then suicide
I can you an amateur because you think that “made for dogfighting” is a thing - made to handle higher stress loadings is a thing - aircraft have stress limits which pilots ignore at their peril, and higher stress limits (ie higher structural strength) will allow an aircraft to maneuver harder - that is a real design criteria.
“made for dogfighting” is not.
And a Lancaster can out turn a spitfire if the spitfire decides to turn slow enough for the Lancaster to out turn it. Turn times in WT are a useful indicator for sure - and I have no doubt a competently handled 110 CAN out turn a A-20… and if it isn’t competently handled the A-20 CAN out turn it.
" air attack aircraft
fighter aircraft - a high-speed military or naval airplane designed to destroy enemy aircraft in the air. attack aircraft , fighter ."
" A heavy fighter is a historic category of fighter aircraft produced in the 1930s and 1940s and designed to carry heavier weapons, and/or operate at longer ranges, than light fighter aircraft . To achieve acceptable performance, most heavy fighters were twin-engine, and many had multi-place crews."
Hmm so based on thoes definitions which the 110 was a heavy fighter. That is an anti attack aircraft.
The Havoc:
Bomber:
" A bomber is a combat aircraft designed to attack ground and naval targets by dropping air-to-ground weaponry (such as bombs), launching torpedoes, or deploying air-launched cruise missiles."
Based off of that definition, A havoc is a bomber, it is not made for anti attack aircraft. it is NOT made for dogfighting. AKA not made for aircombat.
The havoc might have more power compared to the 110. but in a dogfight between the 110 and the havoc. the turn rate of the 110 will destroy the havoc any day. if both planes have combat flaps and in a turn fight. the 110 will win it.
Based off of what your saying that. you are implying that fighters are not a thing? The one role that is made for aircraft combat.
havoc isn’t a bomber though, it’s an attack plane because of how the american gives designation for their aircraft.
it goes like this:
A-attacker, like a-10 or a-20
B-bomber, like b-17 or b-52
F-fighter, used after ww2 and includes things like f-22 and f-18
P-pursuit, used from 1910s to slight after ww2 includes things like p-51 and p-38.
and interesting fact is that the US didn’t use the term heavy fighter
its an attack bomber aircraft like you said. but its not made in any way in mind of air combat. It can do it yes, But compared to the actual fighters of ww2, it wont win against them. or atleast shouldnt.
