Addressing the CAS Spam problem

Indeed, I totally DO exploit planes to farm as much campaign XP as I can.

But I also accept they could use a nerf, and already made my own suggestion about restricting their use and punishing kamikaze tactics (involving “RTB timers” instead of midair rearming, and other stuff whose purpose was basically to increase time between bombing runs).

And I’ve been seeing repair costs sucking the fun out of War Thunder (even WITH premium account) for years, so yes, I’m totally trying to scare people off this particular suggestion, but only for the orders part, and I’m not telling ghost stories but rather past history that may repeat itself.

Nerf what the heck you want about planes or whatever, but DO NOT, FOR ANY REASON, advocate for a system that takes a toll on players’ gains in battle. Because sooner or later, that toll is going to grow higher than the gains themselves, in order to make you PAY MORE CASH to keep up.

Any system that prevents or reduces spam is fine by me, I’m just trying to introduce some variety, it’s ultimatelly up to the devs to choose what to implement, the more ideas we have bouncing around - the more discussion. The more discussion - the bigger the chance it will actually get fixed soon.

Well, ok, replace orders (be it bronze or silver) with just time. Your plane will slowly get repaired over time. No orders, no “currency”, per se, but would still make you think a few times before deciding to suicide.

this is the best solution and I’m saying it long time ago.
for example:

-give 200-400 points for each plane down you will see more fighters than bombers on the air.
-let infantry hide in bunkers and trenches to avoid most damage on explosions
-fix planes armour

then, there is no need to nerf anything.

-Fighters pilots will take their planes to fight
-bombers can’t fly because all fighters will be behind them,
-infantry can hide to survive when there is an artillery/bombing run (you have a place to survive, but move your ass inside)

Probably because it exists in H&G which (lets be fair) probably inspired this game quite a bit. I hate H&G now for various reasons, but that’s beside the point.

Orders to repair/restock equipment/vehicles is, like Serpiko said, some straight up bullshit imo. Suddenly, every time you use X feature, you lose Y progress. This game already has the problem of “once you max your squad, using them is wasted progress” - Repair prices will further exacerbate this.

This was my suggestion:

I can also agree on something like limiting plane spawns to 1or 2 per player per match.

Yet, if planes effectiveness is going to be drastically reduced, their upgrades XP requirements should be lowered as well.

Well, this isnt a problem for the rest of us. People who want OP stuff arent useful for any game

No. CAS is fine in all three campaigns. No need to fix it. You can see in Youtube 63% of players prefer Normandie while 13% prefer Berlin, and in Normandie you have the most powerful CASs in the game. So…

yes is fine dropping 4 bomb in the general direction of the enemy and getting 25 kills, and redoing the same fucking thing 1 minutes later and the infantry can do nothing.

yeah balanced

So why do you think people loving Normandie. Because it’s cool to get 25 kills in 2 seconds. That’s all.

For me, the real problem is people who don’t understand the game they are playing and want to make it a generic FPS.

I say several times, there are a lot of ways to improve the experience for all.

-give more points for destroy a plane (200-400 for each plane) and you will see as everyone will take their planes to kill bombers and fighters
-make bunkers and trenches secure places to hide on an artillery/bombing run.
-fix planes armour

So who is going to play bomber then? I mean, if it’s a certain suicide mission, why would I do that? As a bomber, my chances of downing a fighter are remote (unless they are dumdums, in which case the gravity will down them before I can). The reward is meh, unless I get extremely lucky and hit a large group of enemies, preferably taking out a tank or two as well.
I probably won’t get a second chance - a big, slow, not very maneuverable - easy picking for a fighter, especially with nerfed armour.
So… who is going to use them?

Exaclty, people like you who dont care about OP planes in an infantry focused game, as long as they are using those OP things. You want to play pure bombers? War Thunder is there for you :slightly_smiling_face:

the main plane love normandy*

while there are no fighters you can do it. but when people start spawning fighters, you better get a fighter to win a lot of points destroying enemy planes.

I love planes and tanks too. Just trying to give a solution for those who want nerfs.

My best option is:
-let bunkers and trenches as secure places to hide when a plane is comming (of course more plane noise when are approaching at low altitude)

You got a very important point there. There’s unfortunately a very narrow margin between “balancing” and “nerfing into uselessness”.

I get the reasoning, I too want to find a solution, however, look:
Say I’m playing inf, and I see enemy bomber approaching. I know this is a sure 400XP (or whatever the amount is, very high) for me, I’m high level, I have a leveled up fighter. I’m going to suicide my inf to spawn in a fighter. Before that bomber has a chance to rearm, I’m on his tail already. This is why I’m saying, it’s very unlikely that whoever playing a bomber is going to have a chance at doing a second bombing run.

nooooo no no.

Enlisted is an MMO squad based shooter for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in World War II where you act as an infantry squad leader, tank crew or an aircraft pilot.

This is a description in web page. Where do you see “Infantry focused”???

there is COD and CSGO to play like that

you know what infantry focused means right?
