Well, smoke is supposed to motivate your teammates to move forward because they got nice little cover.
However, from my observations so far… players were always absolute monkeys who kept camping in the back despite smoke creating a comfortable and relatively safe way to cap. (To be fair, some of them get it and move forward after you tell them to do so… )
That really isn´t worth the hassle of making your personal performance objectively worse by wasting your precious slot on the radio squad.
For that reason I know I will be abandoning radio squad as soon as I finish leveling it up. Smoke is nice utility that I´m going to miss in few situations, but using radio squad is: 1. ungrateful and unappreciated, and 2. not worth it even with their exclusive smoke and shorter cooldown.
I dont think ‘any normal fps’ let me use smoke artillery everytime i spawn with all ‘soldiers’ (normal fps dont have squads but invidual soldiers so comparing is kinda strange)
Looks like you are only conserded YOUR kills, your STATS’ and miss whole tactical aspect of smoke.
Regular arty rarely allow whole opposing team to make mass assault in point without getting killed by people outside your he arty

Dosnt matter. 5 man is enough to cap point. Also own tesm should also be there. You dont need win war alone, support exist for reason

perhaps you have mistaken for someone else, but i couldn’t care less of kills.
objectively speaking, i can efficently capture the point while using the frag artillery and with a much powerfull and fully equipped squad i can simply take the point much easier and kill all of the opponents.
i don’t know about you how much effective can you be by throwing a smoke blinding your self with just 5 soldiers while the defenders are buzzing around on the capture point not allowing you to cap it in the first place.
yes, smokes are important, but then why bother if they are going to be limited to one squad?
i’ll tell you that much, no one will.

but as i’m lately playing germany, i can’t relay very much on the teammates. perhaps a different view.
but still, you can’t always relay on teammates.
what i mean by that is, when you are alone, 7 mens make a huge difference compared to 5.
and even just one guy with the kp or thmpson or whatever can wipe them all out unlike 7 that would require two mags.
( well it depends from many factors actually. but the point of matter is, not everyone will use smokes ( and i might be the first one ) when it’s locked for one squad. take as example the engy, you don’t really need the second squad because you can just do fine without it. as the default engy has it’s default tools that can get the job done. it has all you need. the radio man should also have all what they need once it has been researched through upgrade. for later on be used by others artillery mans. just like the engy type one. nothing new, always have been liked that, don’t see why it should change now. )

Not even single game i have played for that list allow me call smoke arty when i spawn, lets say lmg soldier.

Direct comparison isnt even hard or impossible, it might even be stupid cause games uses totally different core mechanics.

And when enemy isnt waiting attack? Oh axis at berlin, they just try spawn rape and loses point when single person builds rally.
Also it isnt hard to predict if or when enemy is going to attack when that regular arty hits cap zone.
With smoke people can close cap zone without being shot by semiautos and other ‘long range’ weapons
Also i dont think assault and lmg squads really need any more power. We already see/use enough those
