I support shovel supremacy.
If the shovel increases in movement speed, I’ll give the shovel to all troops immediately.
Once upon a time, landmines and hammers were very good when there was an increase in movement speed.
gaijin workers first would need to know what running or sprinting is, which at this point i wouldnt count on.
This post is basically just:
“Let’s buff shovels in totally irrationally and illogical way that doesn’t make any sense whatsover. Just because I want shovels to be more widespread, as they were standard issue”.
Not to mention shovels are not only gameplay item in this game. But there is plenty of them that are just cosmetics.
They should just add them as cosmetic option to even more torso. Rather than to implement this totally nonsensical and immersion breaking buff.
Axes need that bonus more.
But axes already have the bonus?
They never did. Only Tomahawk has +20% bonus
No I mean you can charge fast with the axe but you can’t with the shovel
Should have been more clear
“immersion breaking stuff”, ironic coming a guy like you around here.
I’ll leave this here.
I was always prioritizing immersion. So I have no clue what are you even talking about.
I guess you are one of those who believe in HA = immersion.
Which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Does “charge with shovel” really brake the immersion?
I think the current “digging people” mechanic looks much worse than the potential axe-like melee mechanic.
Although it would be better, of course, to switch between combat and digging modes.
You know, I’d argue that what is immersion breaking is that I can’t charge with a shovel, or for any other weapon that currently does not allow you to carge with that matter. It’s also quite immersion breaking that you’re using the same digging animation for hitting people. The shovel does deserve some love.
None of this is irrational or illogical. The shovel does not have the place it deserves in game, entrenching tools doubled as deadly weapons, every soldier at the time knew, understood and were prepared to use this fact.
Who does it hurt if the shovels got a proper melee animation and the ability to charge? Does it really break your immersion? How exactly? It does sound like you have some sort of unresolved issue with digging implements that you should probably handle privately, I don’t think that there are many out there that would view a military entrenching-tool as a weapon as somehow wrong or odd.
Please realise that there is no such thing as “the immersion”, a single objective thing you can appeal to, only the individual immersion of each player.
Yes, it’s ridiculous nonsense.
Yes, it’s utter nonsense Adamn, my capacity to sprint in inherently connected to what type of item I am holding in my hand.
I’m just not feeling it when holding a knife, but an axe can send me flying.
One kind of knife makes me magically faster because it looks funny
Unless it’s one very special knife. For the obvious nation that Gaijin has love boner for.
