AA and AT gun emplacements inside buildings

This isn’t something that bothers me, but at the same time every squad member always has TNT, maybe if this stuff was limited, I could actually use something else instead.

AA guns should be unable to aim horizontally, currently they are op agains infantry as they oneshot and can mow down entire squads in moments while you sit mostly covered by the gun itself. Really powerful on the Moscow castle maps, as you can put it directly in front of enemy spawn.

Just to clarify, if you put it in front of an enemy spawn point you can’t really get flanked, and you can kill anyone who approaches from the from before they can throw their explosives. Even if they somehow manage to throw the explosives they won’t have baked them, so you have plenty of time to evacuate safely.

Fun Fact: M45 Quadmount was quite good as anti infantry weapon.

They shouldn’t be hammered by a hammer, but should have a dedicated team pushing it around seen in many games. Same as AT gun.

Ps.
I feel like a stereotypical jehovah’s witness asking “Do you want to talk about Jesus?” each time I link this post but well, more support is necessary to make it work.

AA guns have been used a lot to work against infantry armored vehicles and tanks. Rommel made it a point to put the 8.8 FLA on the back of Trucks and have them shoot at the all9ied tanks rather than just useing them to shoot at aircraft.

You could make a new squad type that has a crew-served weapon, with options like the 2 person machine gun and AA guns or AT guns similar to how you can choose what tank to use in a tank squad.

Yeah, I read your post, think I even commented on it, totally agree with it.

Here is a borrowed PS from one other game:

The problem is you can just plop two down on a capture point in <8 seconds

I just read your post and I think its a great idea that you’re talking about there. It would add a lot of complexity, detail and realism to the game.

That said, AA guns should till not be able to be inside buildings. I’m not saying they should not be able to be used against infantry, but placing them to cover doorways is just too much.

Explosive packs… They seriously are the solution to so much in this game and I never leave home without them.

We know how to take them out. That does not diminish the fact that building AA guns inside houses is highly unrealistic and annoying.

AA guns were used in an Anti-Infantry role, were camouflaged, and deployed all over the place. It might be annoying, but damn… Not really unrealistic, who knows though, maybe they’ll change it.

Again, im not speaking against using AA guns as anti infantry weapons. All I have a problem with, is building a freaking AA emplacement in the living room of a house, to cover the front door…

Ah, IC… With all the inconsistencies and leaps of reality we make in playing this game, capture points, med packs, all of it…

You’re stuck on they didn’t make a big enough hole in the wall to fit it in, then camouflage the opening.

This is 100% realistic. Soldiers would even hide entire tanks inside buildings for the sake of ambushes, or improved cover. The same was done for AA guns when intended to shoot at infantry with them, which was done so often that for example American quad 50cal emplacement got the nickname “Krautmower” out of it. The current flakvierling AA guns have a very slow rate of fire and low ammo capacity. They are in no way, shape or form OP. For anti infantry in-game, 99% of engineers would use the MG nest over the AA gun.

Example for a tank, as they are most easily found and I cannot be bothered to look up more images:

Okay, that’s a fair point, and I get what you all mean with this. But what people are doing in the game is still not the same as what you guys are describing here. I guess it would make more sense if the buildings in the game would be destructible (which they should add btw…). I do believe and understand that they used buildings as cover and concealment for emplaced weapons, but not in the same manner as players do in the game.

Players that build AA guns inside of a building are doing it to build a tall wall that isn’t as easily removed as a sandbag. They only very rarely actually get inside of it and use it, due to how squishy it is (one shot of an anti tank rifle or cannon makes it explode)
