Even if it only had 20 bullets loaded and 1 spare mag tot.
I like fg42, it’s good… But I prefer BAR. Seems more accurate in bursts… but that’s me. Troopers got the m2 anyway.
It’s not that unbalanced when you think about.
Axis can have 9 pseudo gunners, but, allies can have 9 pseudo assaulters.
What allies DO need… are my Beloved Pershings.
I think weapon distribution mostly depended on how much a soldier wanted to use it, and how much his co liked said soldier. It was a lil blurry. Unlike axis guys who had a SET amount of riflemen, one lmg, one co with smg…
Etc.
It depends on the context, but gewehr is more likely to be used for rifles. Waffe is a weapon in a general sort of way.
Literally sturmgewehr is assault rifle in translation, not assault gun. Gewehr 41/43 are rifles 41/43, not guns 41/43.
Think it was like this for us, too.
“So, Chaps, you could ditch your reliable Lee Enfield for this new (cheap) technological marvel if you wish!”
“Eh, I don’t know sir, looks finicky to me… Think I’ll keep my main rifle with which I’m used to…”
It depends on the context, but it’s mostly used to refer to a “rifle” for instance StG-44 stands for Sturm Gewehr or in English: Storm Rifle, but depending on the context, the word Sturm could also mean “Assault”.
Also notice how the t is lowercase in “StG”. This is because in the designation “St” stands for Sturm, this also applies to the MKb-42(H) because the “Kb” stands for Karabiner.
