Darkflow and Gaijin have already played with the idea of the alternate wwii in the april fools events, and I think they were well recieved in both cases, I believe? The mech and Moonbase event.
The MG45, stg45, and other prototype weapons and or alternate planned versions of them, some of which are already in the game, would fit in as campaign unlocks nicely.
I think that it deserves a closed test to see if a campaign like this would be fun and or feasible.
Also just because the most vocal people on the forums don’t like Maus and prototype weapons, doesn’t mean that there are at least an equal number of people such as myself who usually refrain from too much forum posting unless I believe it to be necessary, who do enjoy those things and wish there was more of it in games like this one specifically.

You are right, the moon base event was very fun and well received. But I think a big reason for that was that it was a fun little event that was unique from the other campaigns. If the devs really worked hard on an alt-history campaign it would destroy the last vestiges of historical integrity the game still has. There are many people that really care that this game focuses on history, so they can be immersed in it. From a developer perspective it just doesn’t make sense to put all that effort into making a campaign that will infuriate a large number of people to the point of abandoning the game. They have made people angry in the past, but anger from a campaign like the one suggested would be unprecedented.
I didn’t say that they should mess up the historical aspect of other campaigns, nor am I making any excuses for any mistakes the devs have made with that. I want the right uniforms and appropriate weapons, too.
What I am saying, which is in regards to my suggestion and is separate from your gripe about historical accuracy, is that this would be the appropriate place for the alt history things to be brought to life without the issues of interfering with the “historical” aspect so that everyone can enjoy it. This would hopefully help preserve the integrity of the other campaigns by keeping the alt history and weird stuff to this campaign.

The Alt history and historical groups don’t have to be at odds with each other, we should be able to coexist in the same game ecosystem and this would keep everyone happy and playing the same game.

While not being directly at odds with each other, having historical and alt-historical campaigns would take away from the games overall historical accuracy. It could no longer market itself as even a semi-historical ww2 shooter. People would be upset that a more historical campaign was not developed like the battle for china or the battle of the bulge etc. It just doesn’t make sense to make a campaign that will make such a large portion of the players mad when they could make something like the pacific where almost everyone was really happy with it.
Although a seperate issue, the other campaigns you mentioned should be integrated in with the current campaigns we have so that the playerbase doesn’t get too divided. This leaves room for a unique but still relevant to wwii campaign which utilizes all factions in a unique setting to be used, instead of a campaign with WAY more of the same weapons and tanks. My suggestion is the only one that allows for many, many underutilized and unique experimentals and planned tanks/guns, or even brand new ones darkflow could make which could fit in with the theme.
There is someone else on the forum who had a similar idea. Mine would be to turn Stalingrad into Stalingrad/Kursk, Moscow into Moscow/Leningrad/Novgorod, and Normandy into Normandy/Battle of the Bulge to expand the historical campaigns.
The devs seem fine with Jumbos in Normandy and other such things that people didn’t like at first.
China may be more appropriate as a series of events rather than a campaign addon, however.
Yeah i think unthinkable wojld be cool (US,Uk Whermacth vs USSR) but with the whole stuff going on in 2022 might wanna hope for after the situation concludes, IMO i dont they will at the moment. but hey we can rely on custom games until then
Yeah i like that berlin could be operation bogratsion/berlin/ seelow which is already in berlin and thier uniforms aka summer and winter outfits depend on the battles time and tempertur
Or heres a suggestion make a spinoff game that uses the same amount of currency that you have in enlisted for allt history and advert that as the alt history game
I’d rather everyone stay in Enlisted so nobody has to download a separate client. This idea fits in well with what we already have.
Enlisted is already full of alt history(I’d rather we get the right tanks and camos but I am lenient on having rare guns in historic campaigns, as a personal preference) so a 46’ campaign seems to be the natural progression.
Much rather them move on from WW2 into the Korean War or Vietnam instead of adding some kind of fictional “what if” scenario. (Or even move backwards into WW1)
Korean War or some other war wouldn’t solve the issue of Japan not having another campaign to transfer weapons to unlike all the other factions. Also, the Korean war seems fairly anemic in terms of weapons and tanks available. Then everyone would get mad anyway about tanks or guns that would have to be added for balance and flavor. Let’s just skip all the arguing about that and make a campaign which grants total freedom and has two strong sides which have yet to receive a modern fps game to showcase their experimental tank designs and guns/planes in a multiplayer setting.
Say you played HoI4 TNO mod without saying you played HoI4 TNO mod
I actually never played that. I am more of a road to 56 guy

My inspiration comes from games like Warfront: Turning Point, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, Wolfenstein, and games and ideas similar to those.
How about a SAW campaign?
I mentioned that it could either go in the fantasy/sci-fi directions and or the historical one.
My personal preference is a combination of the two. I also made this suggestion because, at least to me, it seems like Darkflow and gaijin like to experiment with the hypothetical sci fi and fantasy wwii setting already. This is clearly showcased by the mech and moonbase events.
Axis winning, or at least getting close to, world war 2 is…
Not very plausible. At least for me.
I’d consider it more likelly if it were a “Unholy alliance” kind of scenario:
Basically communists side with fascists: axis + comintern versus the allies.
However, there would one significant tweak:
Japan joins allies in retaliation, sues for peace with nationalist china, while Mao of course sides with his comrades - basically it’s chinese civil war, and You can see them on both sides.
In this scenario, I could believe that axis + comintern could threaten the US, though, by that time UK would’ve been conquered, possibly Japan as well - if it comes to fighting on America’s continent soil…
If it is “whatever goes”, we’re probably better off implementing arcade battles…
But otherwise - yeah, I am for sci-fi and hypothetical “what-if” stuff, though, it should not come at the expense of more plausible scenarios.
This isn’t about an “anything goes” scenario, I want to keep the integrity of the established Axis and Allied teams, and to have one campaign with full combined forces for each side. My Scenario makes the most sense and doesn’t change the teams up that much, even if it’s not entirely the most “plausible”. The last vestiges of the Allied powers would probably be Siberia, the Rocky Mountains, and London(if Sealion wasn’t done early). I could easily see the Japanese and German armies linking up in both USA and in Russia as part of a logical invasion of each to the full extent, if the Allies refused to surrender.
I also already mentioned that other scenarios or hypothetical campaigns would result in a WAY worse regrind of what we already have, then on top of that there would be the issues people will have with the balance and historical accuracy of those campaigns. The solution is expansions to the campaigns we already have to include more historical maps and scenarios to fill in that gap.
That leaves room for what I’m suggesting here, a brand new idea with brand new locations and battles and the ability for the devs to have full creative freedom and no one would get mad about it. This comes with the huge advantage of having planned and brand new weapons to grind en masse.
Don’t get me wrong, I like historical accuracy and having the right things in the historical campaigns, but I would also like to have a full fledged campaign that explores the alternative what if side more. That would keep me engaged with Enlisted for many more years.
