Dying to planes is an inconvenience, it doesn’t stop anything.

Debatable, depends on the mode and the role you’re playing. Dying costs tickets. You lose tickets – you lose the battle.
It’s a joy to have a competent pilot in the air, it really is, it can win you a battle if used correctly and everyone is communicating. But I only witnessed it twice, unfortunatelly - once in Moscow, once in Berlin.

I wonder what the score board looked like.

Sometimes, I’ll finish with an absolute trash team in a plane. There’s only so much one player can do and there’s some games it’s not even worth trying to do it all… It’s just plain frustrating as all hell.
