currently, each squad has a set of cosmetics.
called campaign presets.
the campaign presets are not actually universal, but separated for each squad.
which explains why the last time they made an update to add the half boots grey pants were only added the some squad, and not to most legacy ones.
so, the spaghetti code comes in and forces a person ( we know of such person being named " gear guy " by out ex CM ) which goes and add said cosmetics individually across 120 presets just to cover all squads.
could very well be.
with a bit of lazyness though.
many oversights and simple mistakes.
sometimes feels like " we don’t care ".
like… giving the new churchill mk7 to an american squad

as if the “”“micro”""transactiosn weren’t or aren’t enough.
even placing such squads behind the silver crate would be yet another scummy thing to do.

Would it really be that hard to just collect all unique assets (they can be used in different campaigns, right? since they can be used in customs) and unify them for ALL squads? Just one pool for everyone in a faction, with separations for subfactions and maybe the NKVD type squads (although I think they should get rid of even that, since we can change nationality and the squad you are using does not affect gameplay at all)?
that would be so much simpler for players and cut work for this gear guy by so many times in the long run (literally just 4 presets, 6 if we have subfactions and maybe some more for premium squads)
but yes.
But what else can you do for a F2P game? It kind of needs a constant flow of money to survive. I am fine with being able to buy something exclusive for gold (soviet navy infantry, for example, that is only for the Parkerized PPSH and Lewis), and I’m sure they could work something out to make donating significantly rewarding. Then again, with 500k players and literal Tiger E skins costing as much as other games…
