Because they should be tech tree. Events should only have non standard issue gear as rewards while all the iconic and well documented weapons should be available for everyone
Realistically I don’t think we’ll get every single SdKfz 251 variant (there were 23 of them) in tech tree.
(Currently one is premium and another is event)
Wouldn’t hurt to have the more rare of them in events, I guess.
On the other hand, I hate it that Events are all about Fakes (“Prototypes”) lately which often have absolutely nothing to do with WW2 like the Lewis Rifle of 1918.
Honestly, this marathon event is one of the most meaningful ones I’ve seen so far this year. Looking back a bit further, perhaps only the Spitfire IXC left me as impressed. In terms of weaponry, it features a battle-tested veteran that performs reliably and a promising newcomer with great potential. As for the squad—the two centrally-mounted FAB500 bombs are completely justified, along with the two Bren Carriers—fast acceleration, low profile, and excellent terrain passability. The only downside might be the four-member squad limit.
The balance between “officially designated squad” events and traditional marathon formats should be carefully considered—veteran players tend to prefer the latter, while newer players (if there are any) might find the former more appealing. Perhaps an optimal solution would be to allow some degree of customization in the former type of events.
For all those who try to complain. Universal carrier was a mostly used APC in a Red Army. No one ever seen a comsomolets - prewar rare stuff with 20 miles per hour speed. Please do not spread lies, guys. And happy birthday. Leave your hands of soviet army would you
