Crew can’t use weapons inside the vehicle despite having barely any armor
Yep, this thing is BR V guys big HE shell is too op, I am uncapable of using a plane, mortars, guerrillas, as a matter of facts I don’t even have hands, cant compete, please up tier the vehicle.
In a long 15-20 minute match, I had two good moments with it.
Sure it has strong HE, but its slow, has little ammo, very very exposed crew, no self defense at all in close ranges.
I got “lucky” because I got a Moscow map with relatively little cover, spawned with it at the start of the match and got 1 tank kill and 6 kills in total before getting my crew killed by a molotov.
I could not position myself in a good spot where I would have had my sight on enemies and still be in a safe distance.
My second spawn was more successful, thats when I got the 9 kills with 1 shell and another knocked out T-50. I had a better time now because I could make to a good position from which I could fire on advancing enemy, getting about 30 kills with it before the match ended.
overall:
while it is fun to use, it comes with serious downsides.
I already swapped Sturmpanzer II out for Sdkfz 234/3 which is also open top but at least has MG and is much much faster thus I can quickly reposition and avoid getting molotoved.
My experience with the Alecto II was similar, sure its good if you are in a good position, but M8 Scott can do everything Alecto II can, but better.
I find it unbelievable BS that someone compares these open top glass cannons to heavily armoured KV-2.
Absolute cope.
some armour is always nice to have.
The fact that you cant die to aircraft strafing, molotovs, artillery ect. are already a huge improvement and KV-2 actually does a decent job of protecting the crew, I found that getting one shotted in it is rare and usually lose 1-2 crew members to panzerfaust attacks or enemy tanks.
It would be fine at BR3 but only if we would have +/- 0 BR, with it being able to match vs BR2 it would be pretty nasty and too overpowered due it’s armor.
That’s all, the cost is more than three times the loading time.A completely uneconomical transaction.
Tanks are not easily shot to their sides, but as long as infantry use panzerfaust to shoot the rear half of its turret side, it will be finished In fact, most tanks cannot be destroyed by panzerfaust from the front with a single shot.
PZ3N with it’s garbage APCBC. And Heat is really unreliable. Besides Panzers trade their armor to get better pen for their long 75mm, so you can’t compare apples to oranges.
Pz4H extremely wide turret has pathetic 50mm of armor even br1 soviet tanks can pen it. Are we taking all of them to BR3 now? I guess T-26/T-70 are overpowered according to your logic.
Don’t change the subject, we’re talking about the Panzer IV/70 (A) of BR3. A guy thinks that KV-2’s protection level in BR3 will be similar to it.
It is easier to penetrate the turret of KV-2 than KV-1, and using the reason that “its armor is strong in BR3” to prevent KV-2 from being moved to BR3 is completely untenable.
no it wont because KV-2 has 75mm armour all around while Panzer IV/70 (A) has 80mmish armour on only on the front. BTW you can angle your KV-2 to about 120-130mm of effective armour.
Where is the 120mm armor?
What’s even more terrifying is that if you do this, you’ll need to spend a lot of time spinning the turret, then you’ll be dead long ago.
It seems like you haven’t used KV-2 at all.
Admit it, the turret of KV-2 is an inevitable weakness
It does not have to reach 120mm thickness to stop a shell with that much pen.
At a 30 degree angle the incoming shell will also bleed some pen just due to the angle of impact beeing that.
Also in such a discussion about armor you always have to compare it to a tank in low tier which mostly end a 100mm pen. So 90mm of effective armor + bad angle will be enough to stop it.
The Soviet Union’s BR3 vs Germany’s BR4;Allied BR4 vs Axis BR5. ‘low BR must be considered’.We will only discuss the main tanks,The former has no chance at all, while the 75mm HEAT still has a chance to penetrate KV-2.
Or do you think a tank with a loading time of 27 seconds is more threatening than the KV-1?
The guys in this topic feel that ‘9 seconds of loading time is too long’.
