I dearly want to see the option of going full British in the game, I’m not interested in playing as the US.

Yes, thats why the idea wont cause any problems, if anything it only may add more of choice when it comes to weapons, squads and vehicles. Maybe, but its just a maybe, when there would be more new campaigns some factions wouldnt be able to play in maps where they weren’t participating in historically. But thats rather unlikely to happen seeing the state of the game atm
I don’t see how both are related. More faction could increase player base as new players or returning players would want to play as a brand new fresh faction.
However forcing me to buy more slots on yet another faction would make me not want to play it as often, that’s why we really need new feature that would let us to buy two more slots with silver as i am not made of gold. Don’t worry i would still buy premium squad to have one in my new lineup.

No splitting between 4 factions => guaranteed players pool for however many new factions.
But the question is more of a rhetorical one.
Personally I couldn’t care less which faction I play/progress as long as it’s a fun historical battle, and would happily trade the ability to pick a faction for full fledged (low BR) Italy, UK, France, Finland and China.
But looks like other players think otherwise.
You can add new factions without removing player agency over which faction they get to choose. Many factions were involved in the same battles, so multiple factions can queue together and wind up in the same battles.
Players using German faction and players using Italian faction could be paired up on certain maps.
Players using US faction and players using Commonwealth faction could be paired up on certain maps.
If France is ever added, players could be paired up with US/Commonwealth, or even paired up with Germany as Vichy France depending on the map.
Certain factions have such limited gear though, that you can really only add them as either sub factions, or factions with a limited number of BR’s. (Does ever single faction added to the game need to have gear that can go all the way to BR 5?)

well idk if that is possible. you are basically proposing subqueues from existing queues depending on faction. so you no longer have 3 queues(soviets vs germans, germans vs US and US vs japan), but 5 or 6 subqueues depending on number of players in certain faction.
so hard rule on maps depending on factions is probably impossible to do(without bots in the game or extremely long wait times), but some soft rule with preferential map choice might be possible.
I think my idea of subfactions will be better.
Divide the tech tree, but still 4 major factions in match making.
Share the soldiers and weapons, but more TT lanes and more squads in reserve.
And still be sent to Ardennes as BR1 Italy?
yes. otherwise you risk that small number of other faction players can hold hostage bigger part of playerbase by forcing certain maps every time they are paired with them.

And Germans using Breda 30, British equipped with USMC guns. You can make historical loadouts anyway.
Maybe a Campaign selector can be added.
But that’s again what we have right now.

no, that would be absolutely stupid, imagine if i just unlocked the tiger 2 but the game kept forcing me to play other factions instead of using the stuff i unlocked
i don’t care as long as it does not increase q’s and wait times but
keep hands off American gear no Shermans for uk or china unless in uks case their fireflies or lees which if i recall are a uk variation of grants
in which case china would end at br 2
that is a faction should be no more then 30 percent compy paste or foreign made weapons from an existing factions main country
But Britain certainly could have all BRs. I can just name one example of the Centurion as a top tier vehicle. I’m tired of everyone shafting Britain! They think America single handedly fought the war
Anyway I do hope in the future Britain and France could be independent factions so we could get say 1940 campaigns and you know battles where America and Britain aren’t joined at the hip
But for now I can tolerate Britain and Italy being sub factions. Potentially Hungary and Romania can be Axis sub factions. But these sub factions should be FLESHED OUT!
Give them every squad and class, their own independent RT line, etc
In terms of this game’s needs I don’t think we need more individual factions right now. In my opinion that could be for the future.

I have a viable deck for Commonwealth on all BRs now 
(granted its only made possible by having all legacy squads, premiums and BP weapons…Weak in tanks at BR V…firefly doesnt belong at BR V)
BR 5 is currently my favourite Commonwealth
Soo much great stuff to be added though.
(For the moment, Im happy with Commonwealth Just being a Sub tree, just more stuff to be added)
