sadly, veteran/experienced players prefer to stack the winning side so one faction does really really well for months before the ball is passed to the next faction. This was in July 2024:

I would’ve told you that things get much better once you reach BR 3 Allies. But yesterday I had a particular sour match in Burma which was an Auto Hei fest of BR V Japan vs my poor BR 3 Allies lineup. And like half of my team deserted after the first few minutes. That was brutal. I only wanted to try my event squad I just unlocked and unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy them the way I wanted.
But yeah, all factions have their seasons in which they’re perceived as ‘weak’ and other times they’re a seemingly undefeatable force. That’s just the way the playerbase switches around. Many old players also play multiple factions for this same reason.

I didn’t used to, but now I always desert when I get level five Japs against my level three Allies because it’s always a slaughter.

Japan mains do a great job of that already lmao 
Its the perks the soldier’s have equipped plus the player probably is good with the bolt action happens to me alot even with a semi auto i might injure them with a round and as im about to finish them with another shot i get bolt actioned. Its just they are perked up and also kmow their gun very well. People use lower tier weapons so they get lower battle rated fights. BR5 is fun but its very immense.
I lose the majority of level two Allies games I play, but probably win 50 to 70% of level three Allies if I don’t get level five Japanese. Of course, DF has assured us that this won’t be an option for the time being. So, I love my level two Allies, but now am playing pretty much all level three Allies, and in the past few weeks have won an estimated 21 out of 26 games. So, switch to level three, at least for the time being. 
Maybe there are more people playing level three Allies now that they know facing level five Japanese is not in the cards.
The only level that I lose more then 50% with Allies is level two.
