that could be a side grade for the radio guy. You can have the standard artillery, smoke artillery, mortars that do less damage but recharge faster, and rocket barrage.

Second, I think you guys are going a bit overboard.

Tho having nebelwerfer/katyusha weapons could work as sound effects for arty squads, giving a second option for weapon choices.

What it looks like is that it started as “we could give Russia a unique weapon to encourage players to use them” and turned into “oh but what if we gave Germany an even better equivalent?”
so it defeated the purpose.

Unique squad layouts is another option, but I’ll be crucified for bringing up that Soviets used SMGs in greater numbers so it makes sense for them to get more assaulter slots than Germany does.

But overall the solution needs to be equal and scalable so a rebalance doesn’t need to be done again and again with Tunis and Normandy.

Yes, the Soviets had more SMGs and the Germans had better bolt-action rifles. But balancing things this way becomes extremely difficult. Same with the Germans having some Sturmgewehre but also using mostly bolt actions while the US had switched to semi-auto rifles almost entirely.

I mean Double MGs on axis tank - a good reson to play it. Ok, it can be balanced by 45mm shells of BT-7. But it a lot harder to get a target by shells. A lot easyer with 2 MGs imho

So we buff the area of affect for HE on both sides

They could also “assign” bots to the MGs, so that they do not shoot thanks to some magical powers. When that bot is dead - no more MG unless he is replaced (that way Panzers would not be as powerfull all the time and AT rifles could also have another job by taking out the MG gunners). Same with roof MGs in future campaigns (commander or some teammate could use them).

Russian players are stopping playing the game or switching to germans because you try ranking up as Russians when your lucky to win 3 in 10 games. Hence all therse stacked German sides are often up against no MG squads, no bomber squads , no mortar often no artillery and no better tanks … yeah games stuck in a no win ( for russia) loop .
Seriously boost Russian xp till more ppl play Russians and win rates increase or just give up and make it Germans vs bots full time.

At this rate it’s just going to be a nazi pve power fantasy. Which can be fun, but that’s not what it set out to be which is sad.

I don’t have mortar or flametrooper squads yet, but it looks like radiomen just get shafted in general by having a whole 2(?) squads that can actually accept them- the sniper squad and radio squad. The assaulter squad might have a radio slot but I don’t think so. Otherwise they get completely replaced by mortar slots.

Maybe they should just hurry up with open beta testing and hope the problem gets a little smaller , I dont think you’ll ever get the same number wanting to play Russians but with more players at least you will get more players that dont want to play easy mode( yes a dig at germans cause I prefer them too but after getting to rank 7 I just stopped as it was boring ASF winning almost every game ( like seriously 80% +))

Also the buy in I am sure has skewed things with at a guess most players only purchasing one or the other buying in as Germans.

There is one huge risk, however. If by open beta the problem isn’t solved, there won’t be another “get out of jail free” card to play to revive the game.

Sure there is an easy 50% bonus xp as an underplayed nation will bring all the kids to the yard.

Better still and probably not hard maybe to implement but just give all games more respawns and tickets to the Russians cause lets face it that was their thing overwhelming numbers. Honestly most of the losses I have faced as Russian , even if we had say 20% more respawns n tickets would probably still play out the same way or maybe skew slighlty to Mother Russia.
