Why do some pistols cost 2 silver orders?

Some pistols cost 2 silver orders to purchase such as the TK 1926 and the M1911A1 Colt. So far they’re the only weapons I’ve seen that cost that much. Why in the world are pistols more expensive than anything else?

Because they are useless!

Seriously tho - buying pistols is a waste of orders - don’t do it!! You will get some when you get tank crews, and very occasionally as part of an event (like maybe 2-3 in a year), and those are all you ever need.

You will eventually encounter weapons that cost 3 silver orders - including pistols IIRC - I don’t buy them so I’m a bit rusty on what’s available!!

A long time ago pistols were free - you got them as a random add-on when you purchased a main weapon, so they were quite rare (as well as getting them with tank crews etc)

then they changed the system…

iirc this is going to be adjusted, most likely after merge

Im actually curious to know who in their right mind decided charging 3 silver orders for a TT pistol was a great idea, at least on Stalingrad and the Pacific they are 1 silver order

Gah, I completely forgot the old lottery way to obtain weapons with…

A single bronze order (!)

… Got so many axes from this.

Cheap(er) pistols in stalingrad and pacific.

For those like myself with the need to get their John Wick on.

or in my case, Johann Wicke

Couldn’t disagree more! Pistols are the best, I use them all the time and give them to as many soldiers as I can. They come in clutch when you run out of ammo with your mg or you’re in a cqb fight with a bolt action.

Also some pistols are three orders, so it gets even worse. If you buy them in the Pacific and/or the Stalingrad they only cost one silver, so stock up for the merge that will probably come eventually

No you don’t diss my Mauser c96 bang bang skeet skeet what is up with it vanilla face?
Some pistols are well worth the orders

Yeah, don’t get the hate/under-appreciation of pistols.

I use them regularly (that’s not an understatement) and would feel naked without them.

And I have spent an awful amount of silvers on them. Before Pacific and Stalingrad I actually thought it was a good investment, despite their price.

But:

I suggest them to do this, let the bad pistols go for bronze orders, and the good ones for silver(s).

Y’all have dependancies on the worst firearms in the game and brag about it like that’s a good thing??

Sheesh… :exploding_head:

More like most of the other players have dependencies on the “best” weapons in the game and still get slapped by the odd pistol lover :stuck_out_tongue:

Saying pistols are great because you can kill anyone with them is like saying knives are the best weapon because ditto.

Silly response.

Didnt say they were great. basically said its the player/situation more than the weapon

OK - you dissed players for having “dependencies of (sic) the “best” weapons” because pistols can kill too.

OK - well in that case same argument for you dependency on pistols - knives can kill you!

Pistols are the worst firearms in the game - that’s just objective fact.

Singing their praises is arrant nonsense, and saying you get yourself into positions where you have to rely on them indeed says lots about the player!

Except no where in my responses have i praised pistols for being great, or needing them lol.

If anything i agreed with you by saying people are dependant on the best weapons (that arent pistols) because most people need all the help they can get so they wont pick/use anything lesser…

But there are others that dont need the extra help or are not dependent on their weapon period. (they will bring a tea cup to a fight and still come out on top), or just enjoy it.

Rather a hostile retort there mate.

I didn’t say it was you, I altered my particular response to you to remove that, and your justification (or whatever it is) for pistols is what I said it is - perhaps put more thought into it next time.

My response was in jest mate, and didnt touch on their quailty, or any need to defend them. Only that people enjoy and have use for them, myself included (I have 20-30 of each pistol…I often empty my Large ammo back pack and welcome the sidearm, no regrets). Other times I just enjoy the challenge of doing a round of pistols to see if I can outscore everyone.

Wasnt meant to rile you or anyone up.

All good

Yes?

But have you even thought about using pistols rather than reload and get killed in the processes?

Kinda embarrassing to read what you just said. Coming here and trash-talking people with those high eyebrows of years instead of trying to understand what people are actually saying.

Someone being around for such a long time as you have should know better.

Compared to what? Pistols are the best secondary weapons that allow you to use the backpack slot, and they do the same damage as smgs so if you’re quick on the trigger they can be quite effective in cqb, especially when melee isn’t a viable option.

That’s a scenario that comes up often for me at least. Even if they are the “worst firearms in the game” they’re still not bad. As a weapon with it’s own dedicated slot they are only a benefit, at least for my style of play.

You’re free to not like pistols, but they are a unique weapon type that every class can use, so they shouldn’t be directly compared to other guns. They are just too expensive mostly, that’s why I suggest buying them in the campaigns where they are only 1 silver.

Wow didn’t know this would start such a fiery debate!

Love or hate pistols, at the end of the day there is a slot in your inventory reserved only for them. If you are caught in a bind and run out of ammo or need to reload during combat it serves you no purpose having that slot empty.
