Like it or not (and I obviously don’t, as anyone else), that worked and still works for Gaijin in WT. There’s literally no reason for them to change pricings as long as sales keep running.
Some squads have Been sold way cheeper than price when they were introduced
If the user wants a premium squad right now on release its a price, if user waits there is generally a sale or like in the past, a bundle with multiple premiums at a huge discount.
I can purchase a new phone right now at the lunch prince, or wait for a discount. My decision as a customer.
While do I agree prices as a customer could be 27172 times lower, I also consider no one is forcing me to open my wallet everytime I make a purchase.
That is also an option. Even tho i could state I could wait for firefly and panzer 4 to be a separate bundle, I did decide that the price of 2 for one was a nice deal, even tho the J in normandy wanst nothing to brag about.
It was already announced that the Stalingrad pack and the Pacific bundle would be discontinued for the merge that will eventually come and the prices will increase in the future. Now they are sold individually and are much more expensive than the bundles, but if you didn’t buy them when they were cheap, you have to give up. There will eventually be a chance to buy them on sale or a new bundle will come along.
Trouble with all these complaints about squad prices - how else does DF get income at the moment?
Premium access is cheap, BP is essentially free once you buy one… and they do not charge a per-game fee.
So what is left to keep the game alive?
the game seems to me to lack a steady income stream - personally I think they could change the entire charging to make it more sustainable - charge a bit more for BP, make a charge per game for the equivalent of Premium (while still keeping and perhaps increasing Premium bulk time)…
Because this thing is not for luxury goods or collectibles… Many high-level teams are not even as strong as the teams given away in the event. Just like what you mentioned. The team given away by the event has rifle grenades…
Wtf are you on about what kind of game has a per game fee?! There is a battlepass and premium. That should be enough.
The amount of tripple A games and other games out there that are buy once play free forever is huge.
The thing everyone is discussing is that some of the prem squads are the same price as a tripple a game. Which IMO is too high they should be the price of skins in other games with a f2p model.
Indeed - and one wonders how they manage without steady income - perhaps that initial rush to buy is enough for many, but many also fade and stop being developed pretty quickly too.
If a game is not good, passes a certain price point or engages in anti consumer practices. I can guarantee you that less people will play it and there will be more player attrition.
So unless you condone anti consumer behavior by gaming companies and want to pay more for everything (I don’t understand why you would) then I suggest you stop saying things like this are OK.
I’m fine with the premium price (even though I wish I could get more out of it as some of it’s benefits like reserve size have been removed) I’m fine with the BP as that I think is very fairly priced.
The squads are too expensive unless on discount. Most aren’t that good I have only ever bought I think 3 premium squads when they were on discount.
Yes if you like the game feel free to support the game with money but he exchange should be fair.
The game I have probably spent the most money on is probably Warframe which I’ve played for years and routinely just buy some plat on log in discount to support the game and things in that game like skins which look incredible are usually pretty affordable £10 - £15 range. That game has a very fair pricing and monetization model and you can tell by it’s healthy playerbase that has persisted over 10 years.
All squads should start with the price cut by half and then during sale they should be at -30% of the new price and older squads that are over year old at -50% off and super old squads at -75% up to-90% off. They would earn way more money that way since all whales already bought them years ago now normal people could finally get them at the decent price. If those less used squads would be at $5-15 a pop (and -90% at $2) then i would buy a lot of them instead one or two a year at -50% discount.
I don’t understand why they are so expensive at launch and sales are not really a real -50% but more like -25% off. Most squads are losing their power and uniques after they bring them to f2p tree or with the events so it’s yet another reason to make them cheaper both at launch and during sales, we are already paying for battle passes, slots and year of premium so you don’t need to squeeze every penny from us like your big brother War Thunder you can be more player friendly for light spenders.
It’s easier to monetize Warframe than Enlisted since with Warframe you are not limited by historical setting you can use your imagination and also hire 3d modelers to make skins for your characters and weapons (Tennogen). With WW2 settings they can only base designs on existing stuff they could hire or port some tank and plane skins from Warthunder into our current vehicles or just hire moders to make new ones for them.
Actually when it comes to weapon monetization and grind it’s also better than Enlisted since you can be low level and still grind/buy some powerful weapons of your choice, you don’t need to grind for 50h to get a single Tommygun (that you still need to spend another 30h to upgrade and buy way more of them) you will get it pretty quick with Soma/Soma Prime/Acceltra (top tier weapon). You also don’t need to grind same squad types 50 times across the nations and campaigns because game don’t have that much content if you think about it. In Warframe you just grind something once and can use it forever, Enlisted feels like game where you keep doing same things over, over and over again in just different setting. Even if you buy those expensive premium squads, year of premium and play well it still takes ages to reach max levels, while with Warframe you set yet another goal for yourself since there are no end to the game even if you get the strongest weapon in a game you can always get stronger with Rivens (that you can sell for plat if you keep rolling which will net you free skins for the next year or more).
In Warframe 98% stuff you find in an item shop is obtainable just by playing can you say the same about Enlisted? I think not.
Premium time, Slots, some premium squads that are only sometimes bought on sale, have you spotted anyone running with new sniper premium squad? they would be lucky to sell more than a dozen of them, battle passes. They could def start selling some additional camos for the vehicles (some of them should be appliable to already existing tanks why do we need to always have copy of those low-mid tier vehicles where are skins for Tiger 2 or Jumbos or Is-2?)
Premium time is cheap and that’s a great thing to purchase you know why? because i have never once in my life bought year of premium in WT because it’s so damn expensive and not worth it, i had more incentive to buy premium vehicles than premium time that would expire anyway, repair costs are so high that you will do better with premium tank/plane anyway than a stock garbage that did not have even extinguisher or spare parts till very recently
i’ve got 3 slots for gold so i had to rebuy battlepass with real money two times so you can’t say it’s always buying itself you need to grind every time to the max lvl and not spend more than a 100 Gold. It’s safe to say that Enlisted got more money from me than WT ever did in almost a decade i think they are doing fine in my opinion.
Decrease price of premium packs at launch + create bigger discounts during sales and discount older packs even further, add randomized discounts that could drop after the battle like in WT = higher revenue
That’s the way of thinking if you are in some Communist hellhole, always increase taxes, print more money and turn entire economy into inflation ridden nightmare and then ask people why they are not buying our overpriced garbage that increased price by 200%. What are you going to suggest next sub like in Wow? You can’t play unless you pay and make it separated from the Premium time it will for sure keep our f2p and paying players. Nah that will ruin the game even more. Charging more for Battlepasses but not giving anything meaningful is just scummy unless they give us actual premium squads that are of low, mid and high tier then i wouldn’t mind but in current form no way they are only worth it for a single purchase atm, 2 out of 3 gold order types are completely useless especially troop gold order they need to turn them into premium soldiers that would get +100% xp and give them weapon they are carrying (with 5 star upgrade). They need to make premiums much cheaper if they want us to buy them, give us more vehicle skins, keep pumping events, maybe make paid skins for the hangars that are hand crafted by Gaijin and by the modders that they would officially hire. Ofc they need to be way more polished and professionally made than current fan hangars, it would be pretty cool idea to synchronize day/night time of those hangars with your timezone so if you play at night it would also turn your hangar into a night time and same with the day time.
Summary
I need to stop posting or entire thread going to be filled with my ramblings lol.
I would like you to clarify for me what is a lie in what I am saying.
On the other hand, it is evident that no one forces me to “open my wallet” to buy this or that thing. That is VERY obvious, my point is that those squads could be MUCH cheaper and, in that way, be able to attract more players and sell more (that is, killing two birds with one stone).
And as for occasional price drops, that’s all well and good, but why not lower prices regularly like I explained before?
And that’s it, it’s just common sense. It seems exceptional and wonderful to me that you can buy all the premium squads (or as many as you want) but defending a business model that is very greedy does not seem very ethical to me.
And I don’t want to be controversial with this or argue with you (since I don’t have the pleasure of knowing you) but I think that what I am suggesting (me and many other players) are common sense and marketing things as well.
