To be fair I am 99% suree PPS-42 wasn’t in Stalingrad either.
It was indeed being produced at Leningrad around the same time but it was not used on the Stalingrad front.
However, with the other options being PPS-43 (too late), PPD-34 (real hardcore mode for BR2) and Uragan (lol no) – PPS-42 is indeed the least offensive option.
I actually like the Winchester Model 1912. I’m not using it currently because I’m using the Ithaca to be more accurate with my Marines loadout. I might add one to my engineers though (since they aren’t Marines). The M50 Reising isn’t actually that bad either.
My most hated shotgun is the Browning Auto 5, at least for the Allies. Which is funny, since I don’t mind the FN copy for the Japanese. The M30 and TOZ-B are pretty lacklustre too, but that’s the same for most shotguns. The best way to use them is in moderation (much like BR II and even BR III Semi Autos), like one or two each squad
I have one of them, but have never used it as in three years I have only played 150 total Japanese games, and I have no additional slots bought for the Japanese and use all Assaulter or Medic squads, plus one MG squad that I use three Battle pass Hotchkiss MG’s. I only play level one or two with the Japanese. The Winchester 1912 I would like if it had a sight, mostly because it carries one more shell, but I just can’t past the non sight. Yes, superficial I know, but what do you expect from an American.
Ironically for me, I find shotguns with sights actually harder to use (at least sights that aren’t just a front notch). The Ithaca 37 is probably the best at long range, but the Winchester Model 1912 is the easiest to hipfire.
And in CQC situations that shotguns are usually in, the Winchester comes out on top every time. Although the Ithaca isn’t too bad at hipfiring.
