Which BRII rifle is the better choice for the Soviets?

I’ve been grinding the Soviets lately and just unlocked both the Winchester and the Fedorov. Tested them out on the shooting range…so far, I’m leaning towards the Fedorov, but the Winchester does have more hit power-

Which would you recommend?

Both are extremely good, like bordering on OP, just go with whatever you feel fits better.

When historical accuracy is so peak that Germans are choosing between Italian SMGs, Soviets are running Russian Empire/US rifles and the US/Japan players are using French MG prototypes on allegedly the most HA BR of 2

Tbf the US and Japan gets the pass there cause thats an event/BP weapon.

But yeah its sad, I use the moisin except on my motorised squad which gets a bit of Winchester since they are good boys.

That depends on you! The Winchester will more consistently kill in one shot, and over greater ranges. But the Fedorov Rifle offers the chance to “spray” a bit, if you’re struggling to hit single shots (or just run into 1 or more enemies at close range suddenly)

I made a detailed Guide to Soviet Rifles just yesterday! Here’s a link…

I put both in the mix. Both are lovely.

Fed 1912 is one of if not the best BR2 semi.
Winchester is prob now the best BR2 bolt action, maybe SMLE with 10rd but it does have slower ROF.

Absolutely use both, esp the Winchester with quick reload is a complete beast. Federov usually goes on more CQB squads like assaulter sections, Winchester sticks to longer ranged squads like radio or MG.

You cant go wrong.

Personally I would recommend Mosin M1938 carbine as it gives actual WW2 Soviet vibes

All those Fedorovs and Winchester reek of fantasy land

What would you pick for an SMG?

Probably Pps42 so he doesnt have to desert Stalingrad since Pps43 wasn’t in Stalingrad.

You can’t go wrong with the WINchester.

Am I nuts for still using the M91/30 into BR II? Probably.

But I love it.

I just don’t like the sights on the Winchester, and the Fedorov is kind of niche, like most semi autos (I would only equip it to assault squads, maybe engineer).

Just go with whatever is most comfortable to use.

Im a coward, I stick to the 91/30, idk why, but its just such a blast to use it.

I mean it used to be BR2, and frankly it worked well there, feels very much like powercreep for it to be BR1 now.

Still I use it at BR2 still, its a really nice BA.

I use the Fedorov, but I am half blind in one eye so I don’t like to use bolt action rifles, so I will always choose the semi auto, or a Shotgun over a boltie. However, the Soviets don’t have the greatest Shotgun and you can’t use it with a radioman or rifleman, so, Fedorov.

Don’t bring it to light - now the TOZ-B will hold 8 rounds and half less dispersion than the Ithaca to make up for all it’s “shortcomings”.

I recommend a BR3 rifle for your br2 rifle.

I recently started using the TOZ in a basically all engineer squad. One assaulter and five engineers. However I use five of my six Yazikov smg pistols with them, so I rarely use the TOZ until the pistol smg ammo is spent. Of course, since they are almost all engineers, I build an ammo box so I can reload my thirsty Yazikovs. With a ROF of I believe over 1,100 RPM, your 15 round mag is empty fast, and with only being able to carry 45 total rounds, w/o the ammo box nearby, it goes to fast. It is very good at close fighting, and I have decent results at medium. Of course, the TOZ is great at close and medium as well.

With the Allies, I have one level one engineer squad that uses Ithica’s, and a level three engineering squad that uses Browning 5’s. Winchester had a shotgun with six rounds, but it reloads slower and has no sight, so I don’t like it as much.
