Where is the Japanese Faction?

The best part is no semi-auto or full automatic rifle

Sadly Americans already had there M1 Garand in small numbers. But they could just leave them be and not add them.

I know but japanese start devolop semi-auto after they encounter with the garand so if they (maybe) add filippine campagni its a bit un-historical have japanese already with semi-auto

As you said

They had some prototypes, one even on base of ZH-29.

And even imported weapon from germany and italy but i dont want see jap with mp40 and armaguerra

Iirc they didnt had those, but they had MP 28 and MP 34 they used in China.

Laugh in darkflow
because they have them im scared

They have even carcano (type 1)

Name of Japanese Carcano is Type I (Initial of “Italy”), not 1.
Well, such imported weapons (MP18/28/34o/MauserM1924/Kar98K/vz.24/Carcano Type I etc) were used by naval garrisons/SNLF, Manchurian army and Wang Jingwei regime. In the battles that Japanese naval ground forces or puppet state’s army participated, we can see such weapons. (but implement Chinese puppet country’s army will have political problem)

To Balance sides, you need to look to the game “Men of War Assault Squad 2” They balanced the sides, by including from Heaviest to lightest! The Japanese Tanks : Chi Ri, Chi To, Chi Nu, Ho I, Chi He, Chi Ha 47, Chi Ha 57, and Ha Go.
Tank Destroyers : Ho Ri 1, Ho Ri 2, Ho Ni 3, and Ho Ni 1 (There is also a Ho Ni 2)
A Sherman Tank would die very fast against a Chi Ri Heavy tank (That can kill a Tiger Tank easy, or a Iosif Stalin 3 Tank). They are on the same level.
A Ho Ri 1 and Ho Ri 2 are on the same level as a JadgTiger, or the best Soviet Tank Destroyers like The SU-85, SU-100, and SU-122.
There is A LOT of weapons Japan had that are just not known or showed in a lot of movies, and films of old, and even new…
This is either by ignorance, or deliberate propaganda.

No Japanese SMGs???

Seek and you shall find!

Japanese Light Machine Gun:

Chi-Ri, Chi-To, Chi-Nu, Ho-I, Chi-He, Ho-Ri, Ho-Ni 3 etc were never used in the battle.
In case of Chi-To and Chi-Ri, a few prototypes were built. Especially, Chi-Ri was incomplete at the end of war.
Also,

Ho-Ni series, Chi-He and Chi-Nu were mass-produced during 1943-45, but they were never sent to battlefield and deployed on mainland of Japan for planned last battle.
In case of Ho-Ri, only few blueprint and one photo of early mock-up is known. Looking at the records, the plan was postponed over and over again and was never even expected to be completed so it is not suitable for game.

The reason why such weapons were not showed in a lot of movies is very simple: they were never fought. (Although, in some Japanese movies, some last-ditch weapons were shown historically.)

Also, you will be misunderstand about problem of Type 100 SMG. Surely it is existed, but its very-rare weapon. Only 10,000 guns are produced at most, and the number of units deployed is extremely limited.
Very brief explanation:

Understood, then there should be a realism button or switch. Allow, planned weapons, and rare weapons (AKA Fantasy), and don’t allow planned weapons (Actual Weapons used Reality)
As I’ve said in other posts to, the more options and choices a player has to play a game the way he or she likes makes the game more enjoyable… At least for me…

although without any good gear japan will be stomped harder than tunisia axis
a fair game would probably be better than a fully historic one

I agree. Historical accuracy is important and too unrealistic equipment discourages players. But games that are too unbalanced are not fun to play at all…

If implement Japanese forces in the game, I think it’s better to choose a battlefield that is as balanced as possible.
For example, early 2nd Sino-Japanese war, both forces have relatively balanced weapon: armored vehicles, rifles, aircrafts, submachine guns etc. Chinese had several imported tanks like Vickers 6-ton which is able to fought against early-era Japanese tanks. Also, Japanese Army didn’t had SMG, but Japanese Navy had several SMGs for urban warfare at Chinese coasts. Additionally both had almost no semi-automatic rifles. Finally we should implement experimental prototype semi-auto rifle for Japanese (Chinese had ZH-29), but it will become high-level weapon like Moscow campaign and the number of them that appears on the battlefield will not be so large.
Also, in case of Pacific campaign, battles around Philippines in 1944-1945 seems still better than others. Different to other battlefield, Japanese had lots of tank destroyers that can destroy US tanks, and also naval garrison got unique anti-tank rocket launcher. (Only 20 but better than nothing) Additionally, Japanese had airborne unit that had Type 100 SMGs and naval garrison that would have imported SMGs. Anyway Japanese didn’t had own semi-auto rifle so we need to implement prototypes, but also they had several captured M1 Carbine and M1 Garands. Perhaps they will be interesting choice.

What I’m concerned about is the more famous battle.
For example, in Okinawa or Iwojima, Japanese didn’t have decent armored vehicles, anti-tank rockets, semi-auto rifles etc. If they are implemented, Japanese forces will get too much unrealistic weapons…

Maybe you missed the part where PrivateVern said a button switch in the game to allow planned weapons that never saw real combat in the game if the player creating the custom session wishes, or flip the switch the other way and only actual equipment that was REALLY used would only be allowed! I think that would be awesome!
