That’s definitely not a trash weapon. All you need to make it work is vertical recoil reduction perk and big ammo pounch.
I understand this weapon doesn’t suits everyone. But it’s definitely not a trash.
Btw. After merge, you’ll get way more option to choose from. Being so frustrated about something that’s going to change anyway is really unnecessary.
Yeah, it is definitely usable without that perk. But the difference is very significant, at least from my experience. Once I tried this perk, I fell in love with sniper mkb (and avoided this weapon for quite some time back then).
The same can be said to AVT, Fedorov, AVS, PPDs, TOZ-Bs, Snipet SVTs (I think a very low ten thousand nunber was converted to sniper versions) M30 Drilling, Drum Thompsons, Indian Bren in Africa, Beretta M1, old M1918s, M2 Carbine in (1944) Europe, Ofenrohr in Africa, Gewehr 41(w) in Moscow, MP35 to non-SS units or AS-44s.
I guess diamond drums and sfs ans tank at the beginning and middle feels a bit different than tine travel tanks and assault rifle and diamond semi auto at the late middle and end levels.
because having access to big bombs and better mgs as germans in the beginning and better medium tank in the mid levels is apparently makes soviets op because how could they have anything other than 1 rifle for 3 men and shovel hands with potatoes.
The only better one is the ZB. Rest depends on wheter you want more rof or better accuracy and recoil (mag sizes are about the same I think) and DT is arguable better in most regards than the normal MG34 excluding rof.
T-50 is better than the J except it has one crew member less which I guess is equal to have two MGs, a cannon that deals decent post pen and can pen all German tanks through the entire front and having better armor.
Panzer IVs and T-28s depend on wheter you want faster main cannon or additional mgs/ crew members (plus minus the T-28 can pen all German through the entire front if not angle). But lets say they are better. Still inferior against T-34 and partly even T-50s compared to the T-28 vs. J1, F1 and F2.
I heard that a little flaw went unnoticed during the designing of the SVT40 which rendered standard Soviet scopes inaccurate.
I don’t know if it was ever fixed, but I guess that is why we have sniper svt38 instead of 40 in campaigns, except Berlin which has both.
This is just my personal opinion, but I don’t think that giving a bolt-action sniper rifle to compete against a semi-auto rifle would be fair.
This goes for Normandy lvl14 G43 vs Springfield, Stalingrad preK98K vs svt38 and Berlin preK98K vs SVT38.
Moscow is the worst of them all, sniper G41 shouldn’t have been premium.
At the very least, it should have been a Full Access pack weapon in Stalingrad.
Depends.
The G98 deals the most (free) bolt action dmg iirc and has the best sniper zoom. In general, BA Snipers are better at “range” while SAs are better at shorter distances so I dont really see the issue there though a unique BA rifle would be better in general.
The Pre War Kars are just boring expensive fillers with kinda better rof than the normal Kar though. Having it one time is fine-ish but not four times.
