Thats a good question. I actively try my best to replicate historical squad composition. But i think they do t let you have things like this because of game balance, however i dont know if its even been tested.

Just use a Pacific Assaulter squad and either use medic and gunner slot or two slots that have rifle-based classes like engineer or bomber.

True, but I haven’t seen the real 8 man squad yet. Perhaps engie stg squad is proximate to it
Also good point. In which case, they could release the devils brigade at some point the same size and hand them dominantly Johnson mg’s and m1928 Thompson’s in the size of a rifle squad.
The Russian storm squad is still something I’d like to see for the Russians rather if it’s in the form of an event or a premium.
Back in Stalingrad campaign you can field 7 man MKB squad, using an assaulter squad with four assaulter, one sniper and two engineers
Yeah I remember as I had 1 of those assaulter squads organized in Stalingrad. However the rest of my rotation were took up by rifle squads as I’m a rifle main

Horn stg, US paratroopers, and some pacĂfic marine division (that arent aviable since the merge)

All of those I do remember.
The closest to the Russian smg company (9 man ppSh squad as mentioned on OP) would be the assault engineers but they don’t get to use smg’s. So it’d still be cool for them to add the smg company to the game.
