Company of heroes has the far east dlc with the Chinese
and really there would be almost no problems with the uniforms, since everyone wore the uniform of the kmt
I think what will depend is finding a permanent or long-term distributor to approve the campaign

I dont know what to expect.
on one hand, making chinese faction will be controversial. If chinese is too strong it will make other people angry if you make chinese faction weak in weapon like our grandfathers or even just equal then tens of thousands of chinese nationalists will swam to enlisted and accues the game is biased and discrimnative and support japan’s action in WWII by having the chance of chinese is unable to win. Dont even say there will have the problem of KMT part in the tech tree. Plus, chinese dont really have many tanks and planes.
On the other hand. I hope the chinese faction in WWII is out. With historical reference. Our fucked up culture managing authrority just know to stop and cut every thing that is not in their tast for the name of “civilized society and chinese special governing system” For sooooo long every one just know what westerners do in WWII and what russians do in WWII but no one know what chinese and koreans sacrificed for fight the japanese. Sadly those bureaucrats only know to tell those story on textbook and self-touching them by television shows.

There are a few issues with a Chinese campaign and/or faction.

  1. Copy paste:
    The Chinese military used a hodgepodge of many weapons from all over the place, including early German and Soviet equipment, loaned British and American equipment, and other things they had purchased earlier plus a couple home grown designs like the Chiang Kai-Shek rifle. However the majority of the tree will be equipment from other trees, and all of the vehicles will be from other trees.

  2. player base split:
    The reason the devs want to merge all the campaigns into faction trees is mostly because currently, the player base is so split that certain factions literally do not have any real players at any given time, and some campaigns are just single faction stomps. Adding another faction may just cause the same issues, but the game’s official launch may bring enough players, who knows.

  3. The elephant in the room, politics:
    The Nationalists did most of the large scale combat when it comes to the Sino Japanese war. I’m not saying the Communists did any fighting, however most of their combat was limited to guerilla warfare in the northern regions that were under Japanese occupation. Thus, for anything that can be added to the game, it will have to involve the Nationalists, and likely exclude the Communists, or at the very most include them in a limited manner with premium and even squads. Naturally, the current adimistration of China does not like this, and scales this back as much as possible. There is an easy way out of this as there is a Chinese version of the game, so make whatever compromises the CCP wants there, and then do things properly in the international version however, there are people from the mainland who play the international version, and things have already been tweaked on their behalf a few times already. You also can’t afford to just fuck over the international version and put the communists front and center because Taiwanese people play the international version. So unless you can either find a way to force people in China to play the Chinese client or another way around this issue, the political issues will be insanely difficult to overcome.

This sentence means that CCP doesn’t defeat the Japanese by itself, the Nationalist also defeat the Japanese.

So you understand how political will it be if Chinese battlefield is launched? You can’t even understand his word and you immediately talking about something that is controversial. How many Chinese players like you will appear in the forum in the future bringing political shitstorm?

I mean CN officials won’t care about the game (international version) unless there is significant negative portray of the Chinese (such as using the exactly the same faces with the japs), which is so unlikely.
(Fun fact: the game forum is not prohibited in the mainland.)
The only issue is associated with the Chinese version of the game which DF has some contract with certain Chinese company. If that version does not pass the censorship, then it would be a business loss.
At this stage I think that’s the only thing matter. And if that cant pass the censor anyway, then df may really start thinking seriously about the CN techtree, which I am really looking forward for (either KMT central troops, local warlord troops, or CPC guerrilla troops)

I think it will be coming if the developer wants. Politics is not a very big issue. If the developer research about history.
The tech tree is also not a big problem. There are many guns and armoured vehicles in the war.

But seriously,why make KMT a nationalist?They do not fit into the while of nationalism,or even quite deviate from it.I think they were more like Russia today.I mean, if we just say KMT,we can avoid unnecessary misunderstanding,because our textbooks actually say that KMT contributed to the war
