IRL on a stripper clip fed gun like the Kar 98k if you were to open up the bolt on the last round you would eject it and be able to reload the gun with a clip.
It’s quite annoying when I am down to the last round and now have to wait 8 seconds for Pvt. All Thumbs to slowly put 4 loose rounds in the gun.
I could just fire the gun, but that is a waste of a bullet and to my layman knowledge it wouldn’t be that hard to implement.
Hunt: Showdown also has this feature. In that game if you are to reload when on the last round you just eject and use a stripper clip.

Technically speaking your last bullet is already in chamber so it should be ejected if you move the bolt back to reload.
So I guess it would be actually a fix for a bad reload animation.

Good suggestion! Though before that I’d like to see a fix for stripper clip fed 10r mags. Seeing Hans jam 2 whole clips into his rifle when he’s only missing 1 bullet makes my brain hurt a lot more than this.
