Yeah! Thats it. Fortified District. I hate that map.
Airfield is the worst especially when Allies couldnāt even get the first cap making it a shooting range.
For me itās that stupid burning village. I am fine with this being completely unrealistic, because only an idiot would try to take that village going the way objectives are set. But the fact that itās burning and covered with wooden fences that tanks canāt cross at times is just insane.
I think COD rejects find it fantastic and itās comical to watch them rush from one place to the next oblivious to everything else just to capture points exploiting the game. It has too many buildings to hop in an out, so most of the leveled up players actually massacre random players badly on this map.
The second worst is fortified district when itās really bad weather. Canāt see shit so again favors infantry spammers running marathons in the fog. Unsuspected random players get vaporized a lot.
Those two are worst maps for me.
I love those maps for there atmosphere - it is very unique. I had a lot of great fights (offense/defense) on this maps. For the rushing infantry spammers you have to barricade the objectives with engineers and MG42 and build up AA defense. Defend the flanks with 2 tanks and the job should be done.
All moscow and Tunisia maps.
Prety much. Canāt enjoy them at all.
You canāt be serious. Majority of infantry spammers here rush the moment the previous objective falls. That happens, while the majority of your random teammates are still putting up a āvaliantā stand at the last objective. And some of these spammers run so fast to the next objective that you wonāt have a chance (or numbers) to put up any defenses in time.
There is no set up that will work 100%. However, set up is secondary - you must have a team to have any chance at all. I play as a tanker, and this map is just so clogged with buildings and impassable areas that even when I successfully stop the infantry spammers hoping at me, they eventually overwhelm the tank with explosives. So, perhaps I should have been more clear, but from a tankerās perspective, those are the worst maps. In real life, no tank would enter such a location (the village I mean). And no tank would attack in a snowstorm either (much less trying to take a village first and only then the fortified bunker).
For sure you have to play as a team and you have to set up the defense line at the next objective and not at the current want to gain time to build up a proper defensive.
And for sure this doesnāt work 100%.
However I like the maps
Start of oasis is indeed terrible.
The rest of the caps is actually not bad at all, I like it.
I myself really dislike reversed quarry, but the literal worst map for me would be Berlin in general. I just hate everything about it, be it laughably bad censorship (seriously, those flags should be removed completely instead of weird elementary school made crosses), or full auto meta in its finest.
Berlin Campaign is going to enjoy tank mains like you with mostly city maps and infantry have access to panzerfausts plus tanks like T-34-85, Panther and Tiger. Regarding Birch Grove and Fortified District, thatās how the Battle of Moscow offered with itās variety. I could name some maps in Normandy and Tunisia that are very suitable for tanks including Airfield which this map is in Normandy.
No tank would attack in a snowstorm? The Germans tried to rush their tanks into Moscow in 1941 but failed because of severe weather, overstretched supply lines and fierce Soviet resistance plus the Soviets did use their tanks on snowstorms during the war including the winter counter offensive. The Soviets even took advantage of the bad weather to masquerade their movements at times and it favors them because it limited the Germans use of aviation that would bomb out of them. As for tanks on villages, pretty much everyone is still learning where tanks are best used and both sides heavily used tanks even on cities like Stalingrad and Berlin.
Never seen someone complain about infantry spammers on a game thatās mostly centered on infantry and if you want vehicles only including tanks, thereās War Thunder to cater for your needs. Also this is World War II not modern combat where modern tactics, doctrine and usage of tanks are not learned by any army at that period yet so tankers at that period are still in the learning process of using the tanks in combat where the game captured atleast a part of the experience.
I am sure you are an avid amateur historian, but the fact remains - no army attacked in a snowstorm. In fact that remained true almost entirely from ancient history till now. Whatever you heard or read somewhere doesnāt make it so. Itās illogical, stupid and frankly no one was that dumb on either side. I could provide tons of references if you want some distinct reading on the subject that is written by scholars and not amateurs.
Really? Every post you make your whine about tank spammers - which is idiotic since there is no way to spam tanks. And you are right āMOSTLYā. Get that word? If you want to spam infantry then I suggest COD or some other lunacy with insane running or hopping. I am assuming however, that you make your presence felt here as all that wild assery is probably not good enough by COD standards so you came here.
You lack concept of gaming. I do not want tanks only - I enjoy playing in a large battle with tanks, infantry and airplanes, which neither of the game offered. But you on the other hand, can definitely find infantry spam games to your liking - there is plenty and no need to name them.
No way to spam tanks? A player can actually spam tanks if he has bought premium tanks and extra squad slots given to tank squads like in Moscow where you can bring 3 Panzer IVs(1 is a premium squad). Thereās another kind of tank spam where its the enemy team spamming as a whole not just 1 person spamming all his tank squads.
Enjoy your panzers then and hope the Soviet team is noob and stupid enough to not know how to defend the point or destroy enemy tanks with no competent Soviet players on the team. It would be a pleasure to destroy enemy tanks especially when the enemy team or even a player loves to spam them, would gladly do whatever it takes to destroy them with a tank or an AT squad.
Was fun fighting passionate German players like you in battle and satisfying to actually win. I get that losing because of a bad team is frustrating so thereās this challenge to win even against tank, plane or FG42 spammers.
On Topic: D-Day and Ver-Sur-Mer in Normandy are a German tankers paradise especially with the hills and just pray no jumbos and CAS while its best to have atleast a Panzer IV or a Panther at best to snipe from the hill. Sure feels dirty at times but the game and map design allowed it
The worst map in Berlin for me goes to Moat like this is just a reverse Koenigsplatz and Kroll Opera House. Koenigsplatz East is just another recycled Moat like why arenāt we getting a map inside the Reichstag up to this day.
I would like to have an option to have uncensored flags for the full immersion and authenticity of the campaign though. Adds the feel of actually fighting in the Lair of the Fascist Beast.
Same here, but it probably wouldn“t happen. So the removing them completely would be the best in terms of improving map immersion.
quarry(i know, controversial)
beloe lake invasion(overall map is good, its just that point 3 is utter pain for everyone, point 1 is also bad)
This is perhaps an English language issue, but I donāt think you know what the word spam means. If English isnāt your first language itās understandable. You are playing against a TEAM, Tony, not a against a player. A team can only have two tanks at a time and upward to on average at least 30+ infantry. There is no way to āSPAMā tanks.
You can only spam infantry in the game - because your team can choose all go infantry but NEVER all TANK. And I think a few games I played with you, your coordinated team was almost strictly rushing multitudes of 8 men infantry squads, with assault rifles and smgs.
You seem to have an issue with two tanks, and I can only deduce it is because as you get used to overwhelming random players with rush tactics with dedicated teammates, you ran into serious issue with a dedicated tanker or tankers. And just two of them ruined all your plans.
Actually Iād like to correct you. You entered each game with your teammates/clansmates and your team was very coordinated. You rushed with these 8 men squads BECAUSE you knew that there was no coordination on the other side, and you could get to an enemy tank with overwhelming numbers knowing that he wouldnāt be able to deal with all of you guys at once, especially in zero visibility. It was PRECISELY BECAUSE you knew that AXIS team was ānoob and stupidā and didnāt know how to defend a point. You perfectly described what YOU did in our games.
I agree the passion is all there. Think about itā¦We as random and unorganized players have very little chance against your elite teams, working with voice controlled environment. Itās a win win situation for us. We are meant to lose those fights, so when we bury your teams and make you barely win as I did when playing with you, I enjoy it immsensely. I do not at all get frustrated. Itās fun to me. 1 tank vs 4 squads of 7-8 men is epic to me. How can I get frustrated? You dedicated in every game with me almost half your team to deal with my tank. I do not get frustrated - I accept your compliment
At the end of the day, I posted a screenshot of a great team - they specialized in what they wanted to do. Two players went strictly tanks, rest picked infantry specialized units and airplanes. They knew their roles, were coordinated and had specific objective. If a player chooses to accept tank role and he knows he can do the most damage to the enemy from that position, then so be it. It isnāt wrong, bad or āspamā. We play on our strengths, and our contributions to our teams are evident.
Cheers!
Worst map is normandy dday as attacking allies, next would be another allies normandy map attacking that i cant think of right now
