Better is the Browning for sure, but the 1911 is a classic

Doesn’t the M1911 have better stopping power?

I love my webley revolver

Why not use both? That’s what I say when people ask about sidearms

I use both

USA M1911
Germany Walther P38
USSR TT (7.62x25)

It’s same choice as between mauser and walther

If you wanna big mag - Mauser and Hi Power.
If you wanna big dmg - Colt and Walther your choice.

M1911A1 for damage
Browning Hi-Power for capacity
Our Lord and Savior Browning designed both so you can’t go wrong no matter which way you lean

I use 1911 for my Usa squads.
I use Hi Power for my Commonwealth and Canadian squads (one Sherman is “The Bomb” and is Canadian)
Rest of Commonwealth use Webleys.

It is actually very debatable if 45 acp even has any significant advantage over 9mm in power. Bigger bullet but less velocity seems to make both equal besides that 45 acp makes a bigger hole… which again isn’t necessarily part of what people call stopping power…

More mass usually means a projectile can retain its energy over longer distance - with the price of more bullet drop however…

Anyways, Enlisted - just like the real world turns the pistol with bigger capacity into the optimal choice.

So Browning High power it is.
