The best one I can think to add is the Bren. It was used by the Soviets, and it’s already BR II.
Isn’t a 30 round LMG what the Soviets need?

The Soviet BP RPK 1943 is a very good level two MG. It should be upgraded from a 15 round magazine to 25 rounds and added to the tech tree . Next, add the Japanese Hotchkiss M1922 to the tech tree as well as IMOP it is better then any other Japanese BR2 MG option. And while were at it, drop the Base BAR 1918 to 500-550 max ROF and add it to the BR 2 tech tree. Decrease the horizontal recoil of the MG13 and IMOP this gives every faction something at BR2 in the MG department.

I would tend to agree, however the Soviet BR2 lineup needs to be balanced a bit better before justifying giving it what will surely become another best in the game weapon, however another option apart from the Madsen would be nice.
As suggested by @Master_Snail , the Bren could be a decent option.

To be honest, I’m glad to see every option. Been? fine. Additional magazine 20-25 rounds for RPK (Have a docs), it’s okay. Trophy zb-26. Perfect. everything

At best as an event reward, I think trophy weapons should be avoided where possible, the fact every tree has a panzershrek atm because of it is really fucking stupid.
As for the RPK, certainly a nice weapon, though I think the 15rnd version should be made TT and the older version we have in game should be upgraded to have the 20-25rnd magazine.
Though of those three options, I still think the Bren is the best option, certainly the most numerable option that was used in reality. It would be very easy to add into the TT, I assume it would be the Bren Mk2 model.

Most Soviet mains use this an excuse to downtier DP27 to BR2 which is pure madness.
However most reasonable players suggested multiple other machine guns.
It was suggested that RPK 1943 should be moved to tech tree.
I suggested two MGs myself.
I even suggested adding Bren to Soviets before merge update years ago.
There were some odd suggestions too like moving Fedorov Avtomat to BR2 MG (by Veekay)
Chnage to Gorov LMG ect…

The rpk 43 with 25 rounds is abetter bar at br2 so move the worst bar to br2 if you’re going to muck it up with all these guns.
Just give us a DP-27 (Half Loaded) with 20 rounds in the pancake on BR2 by literally just making a duplicate mag and changing the number in the code from 47 to 20
- no new models that need to be made
- no terrible-looking prototypes
- historical accuracy yay

Got to love the Type 11 style clip loader.
Still think the Bren is a better and easier tech tree option.
But Id love it as an event weapon, purely because it was a partisan modification.

The Japanese Hotchkiss is badass. One of the best acquisitions I’ve done in this game, back before the gold orders dissapeared. It was totally worth it. Wish I had bought more tho.

Yes, I like some field modifications and rare unique weapons too, so it’s the good finding of our friend.
I bought a lot of BP weapons when they had their close out half price sales, along with buying out the squad slots for my Allies, Germans and Soviets. But yeah, the four Hotchkiss MG’s were a purchase I did not regret.

Hockiss also was in Moscow militia corps wia Battle of Moscow 1941-1942.
In game it was nerfed after some time, but still good

USSRs LMG in br2 is so bad compared to the MG13 if youre crouched or standing that it almost justified the urgan smg being in br2
It is my duty to suggest the AVS-36, which will be a reskin of the RPK-43 for the TT or the ZB-26 with a 15-round magazine, in any thread where the BR2 Soviet machine guns is mentioned.
