It is known that in the next update, the biggest benefactor will be the USA with the super pershing and other equipment… but the way I see it, it was TOTALLY unnecessary to give the United States German weapons like the panzerschrek (ofenhor) or the MG 42 (although premium) and even that copy prototype of the STG…
The USA already has a large arsenal, decent enough to not suffer in BR5 games, if they wanted to give it, I don’t know, a new AT, I would have preferred them to give them the super bazooka, anyway this has already gotten out of hand of the prototypes in the game, right? Not to mention that there are already post-war things…
and something that I NEVER thought would be enlisted, was the possibility of seeing German equipment in the Pacific, now with this update that will be very possible, although the MG 42 squadron is premium, you will still see American soldiers with ofenhor or the hyde (the prototype copy of the STG) running all over Guadalcanal… seriously, who the hell thought of giving these things to the USA? At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised at all if in the future each faction is given a captured tank and I see Americans using a panzer in the Pacific or Germans using a T-34 in Normandy. Obviously I say this last as a joke, but taking into account the direction the game is currently taking, I do see it possible.
In any case, instead of giving the USA those weapons, they would have better given more things to Japan, which is the only faction that does or does need more equipment to even hold out against the Super Pershing.
The hyde and MG 30-06 is fine because they are American. A Panzerschreck is straight up lazy
I feel capture content should only be added if the faction did something to make it unique, otherwise its just a lazy copy/paste. If you want your enemy’s weapon you can just pick it up in battle
DF’s tradition is to completely ignore Commonwealth and not give new free unlocks for them, so that’s why they haven’t even did their research that they had Ordnance, RCL, 3.45 in rifle that could pen up to 180mm of armor with their HESH rounds
Since that Recoilless rifle would have insanely fast muzzle velocity and great pen Germany should get brand new Panzerfaust 250 which would have lowered pen to 200mm however have much higher muzzle velocity to match that recoilless rifle and also reload speed (since it’s not expendable like all other Panzerfausts)
The fact that the US did reverse engineer an MG 42 and had it in their stock seems to qualify it for Enlisted by how DF implements other Prototype guns. For me however, I own two M2 Stingers and don’t use either one, or the Browning 1919A6 as I prefer the BAR 1918A2 to all the heavy MG’s as it doesn’t slow my soldier down on the battlefield. I just wish for level’s above BR3 DF would give it a 40 round mag which also existed .
It’s an MG 42 chambered in 30-06. Superior in every way. Lol
Excuse me? The Hyde M1944 is heavily inspired by the Thompson Light Rifle, with a barrel change similar to the MG 42, and a bolt similar to the MP-34. Absolutely nothing in here about “copy prototype of the StG.” Not everything America did in the mid-late 40’s is a copy of Germany…actually almost nothing is…
Incorrect
Ignoring the German AT. The additions to the American tree are extremely interesting, and a couple that people have been asking for a while now. The Hyde M1944 in particular will be a solid analogue to the StG, much as the T20 is for the FG 42 and the Super Pershing will be for the Tiger II
And give them what exactly? More stuff that never even reach the prototype stage? Maybe some stuff that never even left the drafting stage? There’s almost nothing left to give the Japs. That’s it. They’re done. Japan was too focused on the navy to pump out new infantry weapons
DF really shot themselves in the foot. German mains are now complaining since the US got their AT weapon, US mains are complaining since they didn’t get a native AT weapon, and others are complaining as to why the US didn’t get the panzerfaust, which would have been much more common.
The update sounds great, the only thing i don’t like is the fact that the uniqueness of weapons belonging to factions is so easily transferable.
By giving the RPzB.43 Ofenrohr to the Allies it detracts from the realism of combat of the time. The same is said for giving the USSR the Panzerfaust. I believe that each faction should stick to their own weapons (including developmental weapons) to aid the authenticity.
Each faction has their meta in which they are strong. Allies have great air power, Axis have great armour, the USSR are good all rounders. I really feel like taking weapons that are unique to one faction and giving it to another takes away the appeal of the game and detracts from any realism.
