Volkssturm uniform

I have two squads here from german:

First one is the one you unlock with mp 43/1.
Second one is a legacy squad from Berlin campaign.

They both have wrong uniform.

First of all, have a look at 26th infantry division’s uniform:

as you can see, their default uniform is Volkssturm uniform (with their armband)
but they were never Volkssturm. It is true that 1944, they were rearranged to be Volksgrenadier, but never Volkssturm.
So it is not correct that they are wearing Volkssturm uniform.

Secondly, have a look at 3/909th Volksturm Bataillon:

They were (as the name suggest) Volksturm, despite they are not wearing the Volkssturm uniform.
So, they sould have Volkssturm uniform

(Anyone who might say yOu CaN cUsToMiSe ThEm, no, you cannot give Volkssturm armband to volkssturm squad)

A newbie playing recently, taking an event squad with 4 BRs, having squads with bolt rifles, getting in with Marshals who have 10000+ fights.

Volkgrenadier units have nothing to do with Volkstrum units.
Volkgrenadier divisions were battered Wehrmacht divisions that couldnt replace its losses anymore so they were refitted, these units performed really well since they were combat hardened veterans with good equipment.
Volkstrum units are militia under the supervision of the SS, usually got out-dated or captured equipment, they were poorly led and trained, there are some exceptions but they generally didnt perform well.

and it’s weird how every rifleman ( & AT ) squad gets access to volkssturm squads too.

despite not being volkssturm.

but in my opinion, i think the customization should be like the soviet ones ( stalingrad / rzhev kind of customization. german too but to a much lesser extent ). where you get all sort of uniforms. so you chose what to give them.

we can’t have nice things about customization though…

At this point, I’d really prefer if the squad logo and backstory could change in the same way that clothing can be customized between campaigns.

For many it might be irrelevant, but I like to do my own “historical accuracy” and this would be perfect.

Exactly. The 26th infantry division were assigned as Volksgrenadier late war, not Volkssturm. So they should not get Volkssturm armband

There is also bunches of squads from other campaigns that equip Volkssturm uniforms in the Berlin maps.
